  1. FileSwitch enables you to switch between open files or
  2. programs by pressing Ctrl+Space in a similar way to
  3. Alt+Tab in Windows95.

  11. How to use FileSwitch
  12.  
  13. As FileSwitch should only need to be run after a reset
  14. or backup I have not made it appear in the Extras Bar
  15. in order to reduce clutter. Instead a short file called
  16. 'FileSwitch' is installed on drive C: which can be run
  17. to start the program. You can move this to any folder
  18. you choose.

  20. Whilst FileSwitch is running, hold down the Ctrl key and
  21. press Space a number of times. On each key press the name
  22. of a currently open file or program will be displayed.
  23. When you see the one you want release the Ctrl key and
  24. it will be brought to the foreground.

  26. You can select programs that you wish FileSwitch to
  27. exclude from the list that it cycles through. This
  28. is useful if you have certain programs running all the
  29. time but never want to switch to them. e.g. by default
  30. FileSwitch ignores itself.

  32. To edit this 'excluded programs' list you need to select
  33. 'Preferences' from the FileSwitch dialog box. This box
  34. appears if you run the program when it is already active
  35. or by pressing the Enter key whilst you are cycling
  36. between files with the Ctrl+Space keys. (Keep the Ctrl
  37. key held down when pressing Enter.)

  44.   * Added the facility to exclude programs from 'switching'
  45.     so users can automatically skip those that they would never
  46.     wish to switch too. e.g. Programs that run hidden like
  47.     FileSwitch itself.
