The screen holds details of the cars as well as individual days/journeys. It covers the date, odometer readings and any fuel purchased.
A short journey title is given, and a symbol (configurable) is next to the title if a more extensive description is available. (This extra memopad can quickly be accessed by highlighting the entry and using <SpaceBar>)
At the bottom is a running total of the business distance covered and fuel purchased and the period covered by the report.
Tap on or use Up/Down arrows to select entries.
PgUp/PgDn move a screenful at a time.
Home/End go to the top or bottom entry in the file.
Ctrl+J to Jump to a Month (If month buttons selected)
If you have more than one vehicle switch between them using the Menu or the shortcut key Ctrl+O, or simply use the L/R arrows.

Use the 'Create new vehicle' to add your Company car. Note that you will be asked for the odometer reading to set the baseline, the estimated fuel consumption and also the year for which you wish the report to cover. (On 1 Jan/1 Apr of the next year you will then need to create a new file)

The program has extensive pen support and uses the 4 Toolbar buttons set to the most often-used functions.
There will also be a scroll bar if appropriate, and if there is more than one vehicle file then buttons will appear in the top left of the screen to mimic the action of the cursors.
If Month buttons are selected, then a tap on the month will display those entries. If less than 12 buttons are used the top and bottom buttons will cycle through blocks of months.
Also, in the main screen tapping an entry will select it, and then a second tap will bring up the Notes dialog.
Finally, tapping anywhere around the other parts of the screen will bring up an appropriate dialog. Rather than just list them I suggest you experiment and see what happens.

If you find you are often entering the same information for a journey you do regularly, you can set it up as a default entry.
Simply use the Setup defaults option and enter the information and call it a unique name. Then. from the main screen use the menu option Add default journey (or use <Shift+Enter> instead of just <Enter>), select the required journey and all the information is filled in.
The full details can be exported as a text file in a <Tab> delimited format or in CSV (Comma Separated Variable). This can be imported into Word or Sheet, (or Excel).
In addition to the entry details, this exported report has a configurable title, the vehicle details and the overall total distance and fuel figures. (The estimated consumption figure is worked out by dividing total distance by total fuel, and gives you an indication of the accuracy of the estimated value you have specified in the vehicle details)
You can also specify if the Extended Notes are exported by going to General Preferences.
The details can be printed using serial or parallel printers, or through the PC. See the 'Export' Help item for a description of the details in the printout.
Use 'Page setup' to define the page size, header, footer, margins etc.
Use 'Print setup' to select the printer model.
Use 'Print preview' to see a preview with its own menu of options.

Use the General preferences menu to set:
Distance in miles or kilometres
The Measure as gallons (Imperial or US) or litres
Whether you wish to enter Start/Finish distances or use elapsed distances.
The title you wish to use for the Export/Printed report.
Whether you wish the Extended Notes to be exported/printed.
To enter a journey use Ctrl+A, Enter or tap on the Add Entry button in the Toolbar.
Complete the details with:
- the Date
- The odometer reading at the start
- The odometer reading at the finish, or elapsed distance (If so configured)
- A title for the trip
- The type of use (Business/Private)
- If any fuel was purchased, enter the amount
- If you wish to add more details of the journey, use <Ctrl+N> to open up a memopad.
To update or correct any values for an entry, first highlight it, and then use Ctrl+U, Tab, or tap on the Update Entry button in the Toolbar.
Note that <Spacebar> is a quick way of opening up the extended notepad.
Ctrl+D or Delete will delete any entry.
The program has 2 basic categories of usage, Business & Private. You can also add, update and delete extra categories as required, and specify if they should be counted as 'business' when expense calculations are carried out.
(Note that if a category is changed from business-related to private-related then only journeys in the selected vehicle which were previously entered using this category will be updated retrospectivley. Other vehicles will not be updated)

The program allows you to reconcile journeys, perhaps to indicate you have claimed the expenses. Use the menu, <Ctrl+R>, <R> or hold <Shift> while using the arrow keys.

RMRCar is designed to allow you to keep track of your usage of a Company vehicle. You enter each journey and any associated fuel purchases, then at any time you can produce a report on the distance covered and the fuel used for a specified period.
The program can display the records (and the associated reports) in 2 specific ways. If the month buttons are displayed on the left of the screen, then the display covers just the selected month. Different months are selected by tapping on the buttons or using the 'Jump to month' option. In addition the display can be filtered to show the entries by usage.
If the buttons are deselected then all entries are initially displayed and the 'Filter' option now has an additional date feature that can be used to limit the period covered by the display.
The program is designed so that a vehicle file just operates for one year. After this another file is created for the next year. This prevents the entries building up and means previous years can easily be deleted when no longer required.
