6AClick once on the Coffee icon on the extra's bar to load Coffee. A new game is opened automatically, so you can play straight away.

BThe tournament game mode allows you to play Coffee against either one or two other players. Each tournament can have between 1 and 10 games per player, once each player has played the chosen number of games in turn the player with the highest score wins and their high score is entered into the main high score table.
Tournament games are played in just the same way as a normal game in Coffee. The same rules apply and the same options are available, the only difference is that you are playing against other people.
To start a new tournament game, select the Tournament game option from the Coffee menu.

HCoffee is a very easy game to play, it requires logical thought and a bit of planing.
Coffee is based on the well known card game Golf.
The idea of the game is to remove all thirty five cards shown on the tableau (the main area of the screen (table) where the thirty five cards are arranged), by matching them up to the card on the tallon pile (the pile located bottom left of the screen). Suits do not matter in this game.
For example if the card on the tallon pile is a three of diamonds, you may place a card which has a value of either two or four on it. To place a card on the tallon pile simply tap on the card on the tableau you wish to move, it is placed on the tallon pile for you.
Once the card has been placed on the tallon pile, it becomes the tallon card, so if you placed a four of clubs onto the three of diamonds then the tallon pile now has a value of four. So you can place a card with a value of three or five on it. Simple!
If you cannot match an available card, (a card which is not blocked by a card on top of it), on the tableau with the card on the tallon pile, you can take the next card from the stock pile (the pile located top left of the screen). Depending on if you have the View preferences option 'Point and click' set, you can either tap on the stock pile to get the next stock card or drag the next stock card from the stock pile to the tallon pile.
Once you have the next stock card on the tallon pile the tallon pile takes the value of that card. You can then try to match a card on the tableau with the card on the tallon pile (remember suits don't matter).
You continue to remove the cards from the tableau until you have cleared them all and win the game.
If you come to the last card on the tallon pile and you have not cleared all of the cards or you can not match your last card on the tableau with the card on the tallon pile, you loose the game.
If you have ticked the 'Bonus level' option a bonus level is played before the next game begins.
Each time you win a game the number of jokers decreases by one, until you have no jokers left. If the 'Allow jokers' option is not ticked you do not have any jokers in the game.

BDuring a game you can gain extra points by playing carefully.
Here are the ways in which to gain points.
Remove more than three cards in a row:
If you can remove more than three cards in a row without using a joker or taking the next tallon card from the stock pile you can gain ten bonus points for each further card.
If you use a joker or take the next tallon card, your 'over three cards in a row' total is reset, i.e. the next card you remove does not gain any extra points.
Bonus points for each card left at the end of the game:
For each card you have left on the stock pile at the end of the game you gain ten points plus fifty for each joker.
EDIf you have ticked the General preferences option 'Bonus level' a bonus level is played after each win.
The bonus level gives you the chance to gain extra points to add to your score.
In the bonus level you have to guess whether the next card on the stock pile is either lower or higher than the card on the tallon pile.
You bet your bonus score with the chance of adding fifty extra bonus points each time you guess correctly. But if you make a wrong decision you will loose all of your bonus points.
Note: If the next card on the stock pile has the same value as the one on the tallon pile, it does not matter if you bet lower or higher you still gain the bonus points.
If you do not wish to play the bonus level or you have decided not to bet you luck after gaining a large extra bonus, just tap the collect button to collect you bonus and add it you your total score.
After collecting your bonus or even loosing all of your bonus points due to an incorrect guess, the next game begins.
Note: If you loose the bonus level you do not loose the game, you only loose your bonus points.
AUsing this function, you can play any of the one billion games. All you need to do is enter its number in the box and the game begins.
Whenever you play a chosen game you will find that the cards are in the same order.
Note: During a normal game each game is chosen randomly.
OCIf you have ticked the 'Allow jokers' option, you will find that jokers appear mixed in with your playing cards.
In Coffee a joker card may take the value of any card you want, from any suit (suits don't matter in this game anyway).
If you cannot match a card on the tableu with the card on the tallon pile, and you have an available joker, you may use the joker to represent any card. The joker is then placed on the tallon pile, and the tallon pile now has any value, i.e. you can place a joker on top of any card you want and furthermore you can then place any card you want on top of a joker.
As you win each game the number of available jokers decreases until you are playing a game without any jokers at all.
Note: If the Allow jokers option is not ticked you don't have any jokers to use anyway so the number of jokers remains at zero.
:BThe undo function allows you to undo the last move you have just made. This function is very useful if you accidentally make a mistake whilst playing and choose the wrong card.
If you make a mistake just use the undo function and then continue and select the correct card.
Try not to be too hasty whilst playing, because there is only one undo level.
If you mean to undo the move you have just made, and you accidentally make another move you will be unable to undo the mistake you made, basically you are only able to undo your previous move not the move before it.
AAYou can change the current player by selecting a player from the Current player menu which is contained within the Tools menu.
If you change the current player you are asked if you would like to start a new game.
The player statistics will reflect the change of player by showing the new statistics for the new player.

eNYou can specify the way that many things work in Coffee by using the Preferences dialog.
Note:
All of the preference options have now been combined into one preference dialog.
View preferences tab
Card backs: This setting allows you to choose the style of the card backs. There are several card backs to choose from, they include; Squares, Stars, Circles, Tartan and Triangles.
Show background: This setting allows you to toggle the background picture on and off.
Hide score bar: This setting allows you to toggle the score bar on or off.
Background: This setting lets you choose which background picture to display on the screen. The pictures are displayed in a bitmap choice list so that you may preview the background before it is selected.
Note: The background is only shown if Show background is ticked.
General preferences tab
Build on kings: If this setting is ticked, you can build on a king, i.e. you may place an ace on top of a king and vice versa, and continue building on top of it.
Note: See the How to play the game topic.
Having this option set can make winning easier!
Bonus round: If you tick this option, when you win a game the bonus level is played before the next game begins. (See the Bonus level topic for more information)
Allow jokers: To allow jokers in your game, use this option. A joker can become any card of any suit. (See the Jokers topic for more information)
Point and tap: If you want to just tap the stock pile to use the next stock card, tick this option, but if you would prefer to drag the next stock card from the stock pile leave it un-ticked.
Confirm exit: If you tick this option, you are prompted when you try to close the program, to see if you do actually want to close the program or not.
This function, if ticked, stops you accidentally closing the program whilst playing a game.
Sound preferences tab
Play sounds: This option allows you to choose when sounds are played. There are three options;
All: All sounds are enabled.
Game:
Only game sounds are enabled.
None:
No sounds are enabled.
Sound volume:
This option allows you to select the volume at which the sound effects are played. The four volume options are; Loud, Normal, Quiet &
Silent. If silent is selected then no sound effects will be heard.
Win, Lose &
Bonus sound:
These three options allow you to enable or disable the formentioned sound effects.
Player preferences tab
The player preferences tab is where you can setup the players in Coffee. You can have up to eight players set up at any one time.
Once you have set up the players you can select one from the Current player menu, which is located within the Tools menu.
Note:
If you wish to either view or reset the player statistics for the currently selected player, just tap the relevant button located in the player preferences tab.
Tournament preferences tab
In the Tournament preferences tab, you can set up which players play in a tournament game and how many games each player plays in the tournament.
Players: This option allows you to choose how many players are allowed to play in a tournament game. This option allows either two or three players to compete in a tournament game.
Number of games: This setting allows you to choose the number of games that each player plays in the tournament. You can choose between 1 and 10 games per player.
Player one, two & three: Using these three selectors, you can choose the three players for the tournament game.
Tournaments can be played by either two or three players. To play a two player tournament, ensure that the Players option is set to Two players. Otherwise select Three players to have a three player tournament game.

Why Coffee?
Why not. I decided to write this game because it is one of my favourites. I didn't really know what to call it, so I came up with Coffee. I suppose it is an unusual name for a card game but I like it, and it is different.

What is each card worth?
Each card has a different score value, the cards are listed below with their score value (the amount of points you receive for removing them from the tableau).
Note: Suits don't matter.
New game
The new game function allows you to begin a new game at any stage. If you are playing a game you are prompted first, to see if you are sure that you want to abort the game.
Tournament game
This option is used to begin a new tournament game.
To set up a tournament game, use the Tournament preferences dialog. For more help on the Tournament preferences dialog, see the Preferences help topic.
Replay game
This function allows you to replay the current game. For example you may wish to try out a different playing strategy as you have already seen the cards.
Numbered game
Surrender game
If you have had enough or you just can't see the end to a game you can surrender the game and begin a new one, using this function.
High scores
The high scores table shows the top six scores that have been gained in Coffee.
The high scores are of all time, i.e. the highest six recorded scores since they were reset or the game was first used.
Player statistics
Player statistics shows the statistics for the current player.
The number of games played, the number of wins and losses and the highest recorded score for the current player are all shown.
