II have also written the following programs for the Series 3 & Series 5
SeaStrike
SeaStrike (or Battleships for the Series 3a/3c) is the classic strategy game for Psion computers.
The game supports multiple skill levels, game saving and statistics and, for the Series 5, full Pen support.
CrosWord
Crosword is a program for the Series 3a/3c that will allow you to create, edit and play crossword type puzzles.
The program can use a database of words/clues, which can easily be added to using the program or the built-in Data application. The program will attempt to fit words from this database into the CrosWord puzzle as it is being created.
Puzzles created can be passed on to others users of the program.
HangMan
This is a version of the classic game designed for the 3a/3c.
HangMan comes with a number of word category files, which can be added to by the user. These files are split across a number of files, so the user does not have to keep a large number of words on their machine at once. The user is therefore able to store only those category files they wish to use, or their machine has memory for. New category files can also be built from scratch by the user. Statistics are recorded for each game you play.
I Ching
I Ching is an implementation of the anicent Chinese book of changes for the 3a/3c.
The "coins" used for building the reading can be cast automatically by the program, or the user can throw the "coins" manually and enter the results into the program. Using either method, a reading will then be displayed based on the result of the throws.
Software Catalogue
I have created a Software Catalogue giving details of the programs I have written, including screen shots, in Windows Help File format. this can be obtained from CIX, CompuServe or direct from the author.
Obtaining the Software
All of these programs can be obtained from my own Web site at http://freespace.virgin.net/mark.avey/homepage.htm. They can alse bo found on CIX and CompuServe on-line services, as well as from other dedicated Psion Bulletin Board services and from Steve Litchfield's 3-Lib Psion Shareware Library.
If you have any difficulty obtaining the software, please send a disk and return postage to

m call cost and other program settings.
BThe Log view is a serperate view from the main program, with it's own Toolbar and Menu relating specifically to the log.
The Log can be accessed by pressing CTRL-L, or by selecting Log/Show Log from the Menu or the Toolbar of the main screen. You will be asked for the range of dates you wish to use for the data displayed in the log. The dialog is pref-filled with the earliest and latest dates in the log, but can be modified as required.
Once the log is displayed, you have various options. You can use the PgUp, PgDn, Home and End keys to navigate around the log. You can add a new entry, or Delete or Edit an existing on.
Clicking Close Log, or pressing Shift-CTRL-E, will exit the log display and take you back to the main screen.
AThe main screen (that which is shown when the program starts) is where you will find the majority of the programs functions.
From this screen, you can time calls, modify the lists for Rates, Discounts and Freqeuntly Used Numbers, adjust program preferences etc.
CTo begin timing a call, tap Time Call on the Toolbar or press CTRL-S.
You will be asked to specify the Type of Call, (i.e. which Rate should be used) and the Discount to be applied, if any. As soon as you press Enter from this dialog, the program is in standby. Press any key or tap the screen to start the timer. Press any key or tap the screen again to stop the timer.
You will then be presented with a summary of the call, showing duration, cost etc. You will be asked if you wish to log the call. If you select No, the program returns to the main screen. Otherwise, you are asked for details of who the call was made to. You can either select a name from the Frequently Called Number list, or add the details manually. Pressing Enter will add the call to the log.
MAYou can delete records from the log in the following way:-
To delete the last record added to the log, select Log/Delete last record in log, or press CTRL-R.
To delete a range of records from the log, select Log/Delete group of records from the Menu, or press CTRL-T and specify the date range for the records you wish to remove.
AI am a programmer who in my spare time writes shareware programs for Psion Series 3a/3c and Series 5 machines. For details of these, see Other Software.

ANew CallCalc files can be created in 2 ways:-
From within the program
To create a new file from within the program, use Ctrl-N or select New... from the File menu
From the System screen
From the System screen, use Ctrl-N, or select New file from the toolbar. Type in the file name you require (long filenames with spaces are supported) and change the Program line to CallCalc. Pressing Enter will then launch the program with the newly created file.
QAThe program may be started by either selecting CallCalc from the Extras bar or by navigating to a directory containing a CallCalc file (by default, the Documents/CallCalc directory) and selecting the file.
When launching from the Extras bar, the program follows the convention of the built-in applications and loads the last used file.
|AThis on-line Help file will close down when the pogram exits normally. If. for some reason (e.g. a System reset), the program shuts down abnormally, the Help file may remain open. If this happens, the next time you try and launch Help, you will get an "In use" error message. To resolve this, press Ctrl-System to get the task list, look for "Help", highlight it and click Close.
EWhen you register CallCalc, I will send you a code which unlocks all features of the program. This will allow you to store an unlimited number of log entries and up to 100 entries in the Discounts, Rates and Frequently Called Numbers lists. It may also prompt me to produce more Shareware!
