  11. Installation:
  12. ------------

  14. If you are upgrading from version 2.1.1 or lower, please, read the upgrade
  15. section.

  18. Installation from SIS file:
  19.  
  20. 1) Execute the book.sis file on your pc or Psion.
  21.  
  22. 2) Choose C or D drive for the installation (make sure that there is enought
  23. disk space).
  24.  
  25. 3) The program will install itself.
  26.  
  27.  
  28. Installation from ZIP file:
  29.  
  30. 1) Make sure the \System folder is shown on your Series 5 system screen. If
  31. it's not, enable it in the 'Preferences' dialogue.
  32.  
  33. 2) Using PsiWin copy the files PYTHIA.OPO, EXPORT.OPO, CABINET.OPO,
  34. PSCAPE.OPO and PSCAPE.MBM to the folder \system\opl (you might have to create
  35. the folder)
  36.  
  37. 3) Go into \System\Apps on C: or D: and make a new folder called "Book"
  38.  
  39. 4) Using PsiWin, copy the following files to the new \System\Apps\Book folder:
  40.   book.app
  41.   book.aif
  42.   book.mbm
  43.   book.hlp
  44.  
  45. 4) Copy the file sysram1.opx in the folder \system\opx
  46.  
  47. 5) A new icon should appear on your Extras bar
  48.

  50. Upgrade:
  51. --------

  53. To upgrade to version 2.3 from a previous version:
  54.  
  55. 1) Backup the .DBF and .INI files of all your Cabinet Suite applications.
  56.  
  57. 2) Perform the installation as described above. Do NOT over write or remove
  58. the files with the extention .DBF or .INI.
  59.  
  60. 3) Make sure that no Collection Suite application is being run.
  61.  
  62. 4) Copy the CabUpg23.opo to any directory and execute it by double tapping on
  63. it's icon. The program will upgrade all your Collection Suite .DBF files.
  64.  
  65. 5) Delete the CabUpg23.opo file.
  66.  
  67. 6) All your Collection Suite applications are now upgraded to version 2.3.
  68. Note, you only need to perform this upgrade once. You should not try to
  69. upgrade each Collection Suite application individually.

  72. Problems
  73. --------

  75. 1. Read only files
  76.  
  77. Some times files become read only while being installed. None of the files
  78. should be read only. If you get any errors like the program is unable to
  79. write information to your Psion go through the program files to see if some
  80. of them are read only.
  81.  
  82. In the system-view you can open the file property window by selecting
  83. (highlighting) a file and pressing Ctrl-P. In the property window you can see
  84. and set/clear the read only checkbox.

  86. 2. Copying between C and D
  87.  
  88. Be very careful when you move or copy applications between the C and D
  89. drives. It seems that the Psion is not correctly updated when applicaions are
  90. copied from C to D or vice versa.
  91.  
  92. Always delete the application directory from one drive before reinstalling on
  93. the other drive.
  94.  
  95. 3. Low on battery
  96.  
  97. When starting up this program for the first time a lot of writing is done to
  98. the disk. If your machine is low on battery these writes can go wrong and
  99. turn the application files bad. This should only be an issue when running the
  100. application the first time.

  102. 4. Not enough memory
  103.  
  104. This program needs up to 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive. If you try to
  105. run the program with less than 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive it may
  106. not behave as expected.
