Press the
button on the background pin board to create a new post it note.
This function allows you to pin a note to the main background screen so that it is very easy to access. The "post it" that appears is made up of two buttons.
The small options button on the left hand side gives you the option to Edit the entry, Reposition it on the pin board or erase it.
The large title button gives you access to the actual note. Simply tap either button to activate the options. If you wish you can export the note to your desktop jotter, simply by tapping the button.
A maximum of five post it notes are allowed.
Tip: Try to get into the habit of exporting the note to your jotter once you have done with it, so that it doesn't use up any of your 5 notes allowed.

Press the
button on the system toolbar for the text editor.
This useful feature allows you to quickly and easily view and manipulate plain text files. Simply start the function by tapping the button from the system toolbar, and choose which file to view.
Note: Take great care if you are viewing anything other than a plain text file, ie a word file, If you are viewing a word file or something similar any changes you make within the text editor could corrupt that file. It would be far better to use the relevant application for viewing these files, and use the text editor for plain text.

Desktop utilities plus uses a standard EPOC picture file for it's background.
LHC Software provide a wide range of backgrounds for use with this application, available from http://www.lhc.co.uk.
You can also create your own background file, maybe using a company logo, or a photograph or something, see the "Creating a new background" section for more information.
To change your background, simply copy the desired EPOC (.mbm) file to any System/Apps/Desktop folder and rename it Back.mbm.
Note: You can only use one background file at a time
As previously mentioned desktop uses a standard EPOC (.mbm) picture file for it's background. Therefore it is very easy to create your own background.
To do this you will need to create an .mbm file exactly 532 x 236 pixels in size. You can create an .mbm file in a number of ways:
1) You can create a standard series 5 picture using the built in SKETCH application, and then exporting it as an .mbm file. To do this choose the FILE | MORE | EXPORT menu option from within Sketch. You will be asked to give it a name. You will then have a standard EPOC (.mbm) file.
2) You can use the BMCONV utility supplied by with PsiWin to convert a windows .bmp picture file, and then copy it over to your Psion.
You can then name this file Back.mbm and place it in your System/Apps/Desktop folder.
