  3. EPOC Install (SIS) release

  5. This program is FREEWARE (i.e. no charge is made for its usage), but
  6. the author (Phil Spencer of Aylesbury, England) still retains all
  7. copyright on the code.
  8.  
  9. THINGS TO NOTE - PLEASE READ!
  10. =============================
  11. Before you install and run SysBack, there are a couple of points
  12. you should be aware of:
  13.  
  14. 1. To work effectively, SysBack assumes it is always started from the
  15.    state just after a Shell reset. If you run SysBack when the System
  16.    has NOT been reset, then nothing majorly bad will happen, but some
  17.    of the view settings will not end up as desired.
  18.  
  19. 2. SysBack works by sending certain keypresses to the System shell.
  20.    Sadly, although this is a workable solution, it is quite a crude
  21.    way of doing things. It is, however, the best I can do from OPL.
  22.  
  23.    The only caveat here is that this may give rise to certain problems
  24.    with foreign machines, as keypresses may differ from that of an
  25.    English machine (on which SysBack was written and tested).
  26.    If SysBack works OK on your non-UK English machine, please send
  27.    me an e-mail (see end of this text) to let me know, and I can add it
  28.    to the list below.

  30.    If doesn't work 100% OK on your machine, then please try and take
  31.    a few minutes to e-mail me with some simple details. All I need to
  32.    know are the keypresses in the System Shell which carry out the
  33.    following actions:

  35.    a) Zoom in
  36.    b) Zoom out
  37.    c) Set usage gauge on/off
  38.    d) Turn toolbar on/off
  39.    e) Increase column width
  40.    f) Decrease column width
  41.    g) Shows the "Remote link" dialog (where you set the baud rate, etc.)
  42.    h) Shows the Control Panel (NOT the toolbar button, but the keypress
  43.       which can be found under the "Tools" menu)
  44.    i) Shows the dialog to set the Home city, when you're in the
  45.       "Time & date" section of the Control Panel.

  47.    If you can send me those, I will be able to alter SysBack and release
  48.    an update which will work exactly as intended on all machines of that
  49.    language.

  51.    If you are interested in translating SysBack to work in the language of
  52.    your machine, then please also get in touch. Several non-English languages
  53.    are already available.

  55. The SIS file will install the language set as the default on your
  56. EPOC machine. To change this, you must alter the Preferences from the
  57. Add/remove icon in Control Panel.
