  7. Please read this file. I kept it short because most of the people don't like
  8. long manuals. Please also read the Help file included with the program.

  11. WHAT'S NEW? (HISTORY)

  14. v1.1: Well, nothing much is new. The little sound effects are omitted, because they
  15.       caused problems on some machines. There are other small fixes, and new contact
  16.       info of Palmscape.
  17.       Stay tuned, version 2.0 is under development with lots of new additions.

  19. v1.0: Full pen support. Data import from Sheet or other programs added.

  24. INSTALLATION

  27.     1) Make sure you can see the "System" folder (see "Preferences" from the System
  28.        shell)
  29.  
  30.     2) Create the folder C:\SYSTEM\OPL\
  31.  
  32.     3) Copy the files ps.opo and ps.mbm into this folder.
  33.  
  34.     4) Create the folder \SYSTEM\APPS\STATISTICS (on either C: or D:) 
  35.        If you are upgrading from an earlier version, delete all files in this folder.
  36.     
  37.     5) Copy all the remaining five files into this folder (statistics.app,
  38.        statistics.aif, statistics.hlp, statistics.mbm, percent.dat).

  40.     6) You're now ready to run STATISTICS! It's icon should appear on the Extras bar,
  41.        so just click it!

  44. ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  47.     If you are frequently using statistical functions and are not completely satisfied
  48.     with the statistical capabilities of the Sheet application in Psion Series 5, then
  49.     this is the right program for you. With Statistics you can easily analyse your
  50.     data. You can find a more detailed description and some screenshots on our web page.

  52.     The use of the program is very easy, but please do read the Help file (press CTRL-H
  53.     inside the program). It will not only tell you how to use the program, but it also
  54.     will teach you what the functions mean, and will give you some examples.

  82. REGISTRATION

  85.     Statistics for Psion Series 5 is a SHAREWARE program. Shareware means that you
  86.     have a trial period of 20 days in which you test the program to see if you like
  87.     it and want to use it. If you do want to keep it, you must register with us.
  88.  
  89.     Registration is very simple, and it can be done in two ways:
  90.  
  91.     1. By Post: Send 12 UK pounds (or 20 US dollars) cash / UK cheque / Money Order
  92.        payable to "Palmscape" to Palmscape, 182 Bronham Rd, Bedford, MK40 4BP, United
  93.        Kingdom. If you want to receive your personalised password via regular mail,
  94.        include a self-addressed and stamped envelope as well.

  96.     2. Register online: Visit our homepage at http://www.palmscape.com, and select
  97.        "Register" to register using your credit card. There is a UKP 3.00 handling
  98.        charge if you choose this way.

  100.     Soon after registration you will receive a password by E-mail for the name you
  101.     supply. All you have to do then is to type exactly that name and password in the
  102.     registration dialog. Registration will remove the Registration reminder dialogs.
  103.     Also, registered users will receive FREE technical support, and an E-mail whenever
  104.     a new version is available for downloading. Of course, you won't have to re-register
  105.     for any future versions, they will be FREE.

  107.     Note: There is a small restriction in the unregistered version: the maximum
  108.     number of X-Y pairs is 20 instead of 100 (but other than that the shareware version
  109.     is also fully working!).

  116.     Reverse Translation is expressly forbidden without written permission of the author.
  117.     Registered users may install the software on an unlimited number of machines so long

  119.     Although Statistics is shareware, you are encouraged to pass the distribution .ZIP
  120.     file to your friends and colleague, registered copies may not be lent, sold or rented
  121.     without the express written permission of the author.
