  5. PsiLot is intended to provide an efficient and FUN means of maintaining, 
  6. checking and creating UK Lottery data.  The current version provides for the 
  7. input of User Names and their selections, Updating of lottery data 
  8. (all the previous draw data is also provided) and, most importantly, 
  9. the checking of user selections against the lottery data.  In addition 
  10. the software also provides for the generation of printed copies of any of
  11. the user data directly from the program.  Using this software prevents 
  12. the headache of misplaced Tickets (the original Ticket is required to 
  13. make any claim so do not lose it!) and a fun means to check whether or 
  14. not you have won.

  78. The current version of the software is a beta release.  I have also included
  79. a time limit on the beta version of 31 May 1998, just to make sure there 
  80. are not too many beta versions to support!  I have to make sure you will
  81. come back for the full version.  After this date I should have the finished
  82. version available for those that still want it (it depends on how much work
  83. I have on before then).

  85. If you are interested I have also produced a Windows 95 version of the 
  86. package called WinLot.  The database files of PsiLot and WinLot can be
  87. swapped using the built in tools of PsiLot.  So you can transfer files
  88. between the two packages.  If you want more information on the Windows 
  89. version, please let me know.

  91. If you have any suggestions for improvements, bug reports or additional 
  92. features please let me know.  I may not respond immediately, but I will 
  93. try to get back to you.

  95. Setting up
  96.    After unzipping all the files simply double click on the psilot.sis file,
  97.    PsiWin should then appear and request the installation drive.  PsiLot
  98.    can use either the C: or D: drives.  Once loaded the PsiLot
  99.    icon should then appear in the extras box.  Tapping on the icon will
  100.    launch the prorgram.  If the lottery data is over 10 days old the 
  101.    program will issue a warning.  On running the first time you will 
  102.    have to create at least a single user.  Please read the help file for
  103.    further information.

  105.    This is a shareware program that has no restrictions or "Nag Screens"
  106.    so relies on the honour system. If you do register then Thank You for 
  107.    your support.  If you win the lottery then remember me :-)

  109.    If you continue to use this software for longer than 1 month without
  110.    registering then shame on you!

  112. To Register
  113.    First go to the About menu item and display the about text.  If this 
  114.    is an unregistered copy then a "Register?" button will be displayed. Use
  115.    this button to display the Unique Machine ID of your Psion Series 5.  You
  116.    will need this when asking for the registration key.  You will also 
  117.    need to supply a registration name (max 15 chars). When the key is
  118.    returned go back to this screen again and enter the registration name 
  119.    and key, the software should now be registered.  To check go back to the
  120.    About  dialog it should now show the registration name, instead of 
  121.    "Unregistered Copy".  The registration includes free upgrades as and when
  122.    they are generated.  It also includes the full release version.

  124.    If you have to change you Psion Series 5 then you will need a new key. 
  125.    New keys for those having problems with their Psion Series 5
  126.    are FREE for the first 5 new keys.  So if you do change to a different 
  127.    machine and it is registered software then please use the software for 
  128.    a while on your new machine before requesting a new key.  Just to make 
  129.    sure the new machine is operational!  I have had two new Psion Series 5s!
