  9. Organizes your wine collection and wine notes.

  12. Installation:
  13. ------------
  14.  
  15. If you are upgrading from Personal Wine Cabinet or a version of Wine
  16. Collection prior to 2.3 read the Upgrade section below.
  17.  
  18.  
  19. Installation from SIS file:
  20.  
  21. 1) Execute the wine.sis file on your pc or Psion.
  22.  
  23. 2) Choose C or D drive for the installation (make sure that there is enought
  24. disk space).
  25.  
  26. 3) The program will install itself.
  27.  
  28.  
  29. Installation from ZIP file:
  30.  
  31. 1) Make sure the \System folder is shown on your Series 5 system screen. If
  32. it's not, enable it in the 'Preferences' dialogue.
  33.  
  34. 2) Using PsiWin copy the files PYTHIA.OPO, CABINET.OPO, EXPORT.OPO,
  35. PIQInfo.OPO, PIQInfo.RSC and PIQInfo.MBM to the folder \system\opl (you might
  36. have to create the folder)
  37.  
  38. 3) Go into \System\Apps on C: or D: and make a new folder called "Wine"
  39.  
  40. 4) Using PsiWin, copy the following files to the new \System\Apps\Wine folder:
  41.   wine.app
  42.   wine.aif
  43.   wine.mbm
  44.   wine.hlp
  45.   ratings.dbf
  46.  
  47. 4) Copy the file sysram1.opx in the folder \system\opx
  48.  
  49. 5) A new icon should appear on your Extras bar
  50.  
  51.  
  52. Upgrade from Personal Wine Cabinet:
  53. --------
  54.  
  55. To upgrade from Personal Wine Cabinet to Wine Collection:
  56.  
  57. 1) Upgrade your Personal Wine Cabinet to version 1.3. Version 1.3 can be
  58. downloaded from http://www.PythiaInformation.com. Do not try to upgrade from
  59. any other version of Personal Wine Cabinet.
  60.  
  61. 2) Make a complete export off all wines from Personal Wine Cabinet in List
  62. format (do not use Form format). Make sure that all seperators/ enclosers do
  63. not exist as part of your fields. A good choice of seperators/enclosers might
  64. be:
  65.   Record seperator: @@@
  66.   Field seperator: ###
  67.   Field encloser: $$$
  68. Make sure that all fields are included in the export (that none of the fields
  69. have a blank sequence number).
  70. Make a note of the sequence numbers of all fields (this note will be used on
  71. step 5).
  72. To make sure that your tasting notes are not truncated use the following
  73. settings for notes:
  74.   No of lines: 0
  75.   Max line length: 9999
  76.  
  77.  3) Rename the existing system\apps\wine directory (you might call it PWC).
  78. Keep this copy of the old files until the upgrade is complete.
  79.  
  80. 4) Install Wine Collection as explained in the Install section.
  81.  
  82. 5) Import the export file that you generated in 2). Make sure that the import
  83. format match the export format and that all fields have the same sequence
  84. numbers as they had during the export.
  85.  
  86. 6) Be aware that the file "Ratings.dbf" contains the Area/Vintage ratings. If
  87. you maintained this file yourself you should be careful not to overwrite it
  88. when installing Wine Collection. If you did not maintain the Area/Vintage
  89. ratings yourself you should always use the newest version of the file.
  90. When upgrading from Personal Wine Cabinet to Wine Collection you can copy the
  91. "Ratings.dbf" from your Personal Wine Cabinet installation (the two programs
  92. use the same "Ratings.dbf" file structure).
  93.  
  94. 7) The wine type descriptions are not included in the export file, so while
  95. importing all wine types will be created with a wine type description which
  96. is the same as the wine type code. 
  97. After import you will have to change the wine type descriptions using
  98. Shift-Ctrl-T. All the wines are still imported with the correct wine type so
  99. will not have to update the individual wines.
  100.  
  101. 8) Make sure that everything has been imported correctly.
  102.  
  103. 9) Remove the Personal Wine Cabinet folder (system\apps\PWC).
  104.  
  105.  
  106. Upgrade from version prior to version 2.3:
  107. --------
  108.  
  109. 1) Backup the .DBF and .INI files of all your Collection Suite applications.
  110.  
  111. 2) Perform the installation as described above. Do NOT over write or remove
  112. the files with the extention .DBF or .INI.
  113.  
  114. 3) Make sure that no Collection Suite application is being run.
  115.  
  116. 4) Copy the CabUpg23.opo to any directory and execute it by double tapping on
  117. it's icon. The program will upgrade all your Collection Suite .DBF files.
  118.  
  119. 5) Delete the CabUpg23.opo file.
  120.  
  121. 6) All your Collection Suite applications are now upgraded to version 2.3.
  122. Note, you only need to perform this upgrade once. You should not try to
  123. upgrade each Collection Suite application individually.
  124.  
  125.  
  126. Problems
  127. --------
  128.  
  129. 1. Read only files
  130.  
  131. Some times files become read only while being installed. None of the files
  132. should be read only. If you get any errors like the program is unable to
  133. write information to your Psion go through the program files to see if some
  134. of them are read only.
  135.  
  136. In the system-view you can open the file property window by selecting
  137. (highlighting) a file and pressing Ctrl-P. In the property window you can see
  138. and set/clear the read only checkbox. 
  139.  
  140. 2. Copying between C and D
  141.  
  142. Be very careful when you move or copy applications between the C and D
  143. drives. It seems that the Psion is not correctly updated when applicaions are
  144. copied from C to D or vice versa.
  145.  
  146. Always delete the application directory from one drive before reinstalling on
  147. the other drive.
  148.  
  149. 3. Low on battery
  150.  
  151. When starting up this program for the first time a lot of writing is done to
  152. the disk. If your machine is low on battery these writes can go wrong and
  153. turn the application files bad. This should only be an issue when running the
  154. application the first time.
  155.  
  156. 4. Not enough memory
  157.  
  158. This program needs up to 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive. If you try to
  159. run the program with less than 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive it may
  160. not behave as expected.

  711. PSCAPE.OPO and PSCAPE.MBM to the folder \system\opl (you might have to create
  712. the folder)

  714. 3) Go into \System\Apps on C: or D: and make a new folder called "Music"
  715.  
  716. 4) Using PsiWin, copy the following files to the new \System\Apps\Music
  717. folder:

  719.   music.aif

  723. 4) Copy the files systinfo.opx and sysram1.opx in the folder \system\opx

  725. 5) A new icon should appear on your Extras bar

  732. Music.dbf and Music.ini files.

  734. 2) Copy the file upg231.opo to anywhere on your psion.

  738. 4) After execution you can delete the upg231.opo file.

  741. Problems

  744. 1. Read only files
  745.  
  746. Some times files become read only while being installed. None of the files
  747. should be read only. If you get any errors like the program is unable to
  748. write information to your Psion go through the program files to see if some
  749. of them are read only.

  751. In the system-view you can open the file property window by selecting
  752. (highlighting) a file and pressing Ctrl-P. In the property window you can see
  753. and set/clear the read only checkbox. 
  754.  
  755. 2. Copying between C and D
  756.  
  757. Be very careful when you move or copy applications between the C and D
  758. drives. It seems that the Psion is not correctly updated when applicaions are
  759. copied from C to D or vice versa.
  760.  
  761. Always delete the application directory from one drive before reinstalling on
  762. the other drive.
  763.  
  764. 3. Low on battery
  765.  
  766. When starting up this program for the first time a lot of writing is done to
  767. the disk. If your machine is low on battery these writes can go wrong and
  768. turn the application files bad. This should only be an issue when running the
  769. application the first time.

  771. 4. Not enough memory
  772.  
  773. This program needs up to 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive. If you try to
  774. run the program with less than 300 Kb of free memory on the C drive it may
  775. not behave as expected.
