** PRINT CAPTURE
VISTA Print Capture is compatible with all or most windows applications.
By simply selecting "VISTA Print Capture" from within your application, you
can redirect your reports from paper to one of 5 popular image formats.
It is not necessary to have the VISTA program loaded, the print driver is a
separate executable program and is independent of the viewer. Vista Print
Capture will automatically engage when your application starts to print.
When printing is complete VISTA will be removed from memory.
Redirects printer output to DISK in form of a graphic image file format:
0. DCX - Multi Page
1. PCX - No Page Break
2. PCX - Multi Page
3. TIFF - Group 3 ( TIFF fax format)
4. TIFF - GammaFax TIFF format
Three modes of Activation:
1. File dialog box - Allows input of Filename, Directory and Image type
2. Simple input box - Allows input of Filename, Directory and Image type via the Sendkeys statement
3. ASCII text file - Allows input of Filename, Directory and Image type via a Std ASCII File

As part of the installation process, VISTA Print Capture installs the following file VISTAPRN.INI :

Mode 1, set FileMode= 0 and no FileName
Mode 2, set FileMode= 0 and no FileName. The file string passed to VISTA
Print Capture must be in the following format:
Filename, Format (0-4) The ( ,n ) format number is optional, the default
is 0 (DCX) The string must be end with a Carriage Return and use the True
statement on SendKeys to pause until completion.
i.e. x = Shell("C:\VISTA\VISTAPRN", 1)
SendKeys "C:\TEST.DCX,0" + Chr(13), True
Report.Action = 1
Please Note: VISTA Print Capture must be executed and have the keyboard
stuffed before your application sends output to the printer.
Mode 3, Set the FileName= ASCII text file containing the Filename and format (optional) of the pending report. When FileName contains data, VISTA Print Capture ignores the FileMode switch and opens the ascii file listed in the FileName.

Program Restriction: The VBX and DRV files supplied with Version 1.2, have a
bug that causes the Multi-PCX function to lock up. If you have the need to
use MULTI-PCX format and are registered user, just e-mail a request for a
copy of the 8/94 Vista Print Drivers from Faxtastic. This problem is under
investigation and will be corrected in a future release.
Automatic Installation : VISTA print driver is automatically installed in
your win.ini during setup.
Fine & Standard Resolution: Fine mode offers 204 x 196 and Standard mode
offers 204 x 98
Please Note: VISTA requires that a print driver of any type
(i.e. Laser, Dot Matrix or VISTA) be defined as default from within Windows. A GPF will occur if no printer has been selected as default when VISTA is run.
** CLIPBOARD EDITOR
By means of the VISTA File New and Paste functions, a clipboard image can be viewed, enhanced,
printed and saved to disk . Clipboard images are treated just as images loaded from disk.
** REGISTRATION
The unregistered version of VISTA is 100% functional and Not Crippled
in any manner. However, all unregistered versions do include a small registration
reminder that will appear periodically while the program is running.
The registration reminder screen will disappear by pressing the OK button.

Most problems associated with VISTA concern poor image quality.
If an image appears grainy, it is probally because your video doesn't support
enough colors to show the image correctly.
- VISTA can work with 16 colors but a minimum of 256 colors is highly recommended.
- VISTA works best when using either 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 resolutions.
