  4. Installation
  5. ------------

  7.   To install Pool Shark do the following :
  8.   
  9.   1) Put the Pool Shark floppy into drive A: or drive B:
  10.   
  11.   2) Type A:INSTALL or B:INSTALL
  12.   
  13.   3) Answer the drive and directory questions that the install
  14.      process asks, or just accept the defaults by pressing Enter.
  15.      If you accept the defaults, Pool Shark will be installed in
  16.      the directory \POOL on the requested destination hard drive.
  17.  
  18.   4) After installation is complete, the game will start up 
  19.      automatically.  To run Pool Shark later, go into the 
  20.      installation directory and type in POOL at the prompt.
  21.   
  22.   5) To get help use on-line Help by pressing "H" or left click 
  23.      on  (H), or pick Help from the Menu.  You can get a hard copy
  24.      of the Help by printing out the file "pool.hlp" in the Pool 
  25.      Shark directory.

  27.   Hardware Requirements
  28.   ---------------------
  29.   o  VGA or EGA monitor.
  30.   
  31.   o  286, 386, 486 or higher processor.
  32.  
  33.   o  Hard Drive
  34.   
  35.   o  Mouse : Make sure that a mouse driver is installed, before 
  36.              running Pool Shark.  See your mouse manual for details.
  37.              If you are running Pool Shark from Windows, don't assume
  38.              that because Windows is already using the mouse, that a
  39.              mouse driver is installed and therefore useable by Pool
  40.              Shark.  This in not necessarily the case.  You must 
  41.              explicitly install, a mouse driver, so that it is 
  42.              resident in memory, before starting Windows.  If Pool 
  43.              Shark starts up, and the Menu flashes on and off while
  44.              receiving no keyboard or mouse input, there is no mouse
  45.              driver installed.  Hit <CTRL>Break and install a mouse
  46.              drive.

  48.   o  RAM  :  Pool Shark requires 640 K of conventional memory and
  49.              needs to have DOS run in high memory.  These lines should 
  50.              be in the CONFIG.SYS file :
  51.  
  52.                  DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  53.                  DOS=HIGH
  54.              
  55.              If you get a message "Not enough Heap Space",  try 
  56.              rebooting and running Pool Shark with the following 
  57.              in the CONFIG.SYS file :
  58.                  
  59.                  DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 
  60.  
  61.              If you don't have enough conventional memory available
  62.              to run Pool Shark, but have extended memory and Windows,
  63.              Pool Shark can be run from Windows, but it will  run
  64.              more slowly. (Also remember to install a mouse driver 
  65.              before starting Windows)
