  4. Welcome to HTML Imager!
  5.  
  6. Introduction
  7. ------------
  8. HTML Imager produces web pages showing all GIF
  9. and/or JPG pictures from the directory you select.
  10. Each picture is shown together with its file name
  11. (alphabetical order) and  size. You can also
  12. select different background colours or patterns
  13. to test the appearance of each image under the
  14. chosen conditions.
  15.  
  16. HTML Imager makes it easy to catalogue large 
  17. collections of web design pictures or to
  18. produce on-line photo albums. It can also be
  19. used to view pictures stored in the cache
  20. produced by browsers such as Netscape or
  21. MS Internet Explorer.

  23. This program is Freeware! Thank you for sending
  24. me a message (E-mail, postcard, ...) if you find
  25. it useful.

  28. Key Features
  29. ------------
  30. * No need to understand HTML to use this
  31.   program.
  32. * Creates HTML document based on image files (GIF
  33.   and/or JPG in selected directory.
  34. * Options let you define a background colour or
  35.   pattern to use in the HTML document.
  36. * Click the View button, and you will see the
  37.   HTML document in your web browser.
  38. * Option to change the base URL (local by default)
  39.   to that of your web server. This makes it easy
  40.   to publish the resulting document on the web.

  43. Installation
  44. ------------
  45. There is no special procedure to follow. Just place
  46. the program and its associated files in the Windows
  47. directory or wherever you prefer.

  49. - Windows 3.1 users:
  50. If you want to add HTML Imager to one of your Program
  51. Manager groups, the easiest way to do it is with
  52. File Manager. Just select the file HTML-IMG.EXE and
  53. drag it from File Manager to the group where you would
  54. like its icon to appear. You can also run the program
  55. by double-clicking on it from File Manager.

  57. - Windows 95 users:
  58. The easiest way to set the HTML Imager icon on your
  59. desktop is to use Explorer. Just select the file 
  60. HTML-IMG.EXE and drag it from Explorer to an unoccupied
  61. space on your desktop. You can also add a shortcut to
  62. it in your Start menu by choosing Settings / Taskbar...
