  5. Some Indians know how to make alcoholic 
  6. beverages from manioc or corn. To make these 
  7. beverages, the manioc or corn is harvested and 
  8. then ground by the women.  Then a juice is squeezed 
  9. out of the paste that results from the grinding. This 
  10. juice is then fermented until it becomes a drink like 
  11. rum. Some tribes add fruit, such as cashew nuts, 
  12. to speed up the fermentation process.
