There are approximately 50 species of this poisonous snake. Most of them have yellow, black and red rings along their body. One species in the Amazon is black with white spots.
During the day coral snakes hide among fallen leaves, under tree trunks or underground. At night they go hunting.
Approximate size: Between 20 and 50 inches.
Favorite food: Other non-poisonous snakes (water snakes).
