  3. New version for the S3a with this new features:
  4.  
  5. -    Dump3a takes advantage of the bigger screen and shows 208 
  6.                 bytes
  7. -    Edit mode can now be accessed by the diamond key
  8. -    The build in calculator now allows decimal input
  9. -    Dump3a has a search function in either hex and ascii mode.

  12. Dump3a is a program for viewing and modifying (CAUTION !!!) any 
  13. type of file in either binary and ascii mode. It's provided as an 
  14. .opa file.

  17. Installation:
  18.  
  19. Copy the Dump3a.opa file into any \app directory and install it 
  20. as an application from the system screen.

  23. Functions:
  24.  
  25. The screen is divided into a status line at the top, a dump in 
  26. binary mode and a dump in ascii mode. The status line indicates 
  27. ths bytes shown and the actual position of the cursor.
  28.  
  29. <left>           moves the cursor one byte left
  30. <right>          moves the cursor on byte right
  31. <up>             moves the cursor one line (16 bytes) up
  32. <down>           moves the cursor one line (16 bytes) down
  33. <page up>        moves the cursor one page (208 bytes) up
  34. <page down>      moves the cursor one page (208 bytes) down
  35. <psion> o        asks for a new filename
  36. <psion> i        gives you some information about the file in use
  37. <psion> e  or    this is a toggle key for editing the current  
  38. diamond key      file. The Edit Mode is indicted by an arrow at 
  39.                  the left side of either the binary or the ascii 
  40.                  dump. 
  41.                  You can toggle between the binary and the ascii 
  42.                  mode by pressing the <tab> key. 
  43.                  In ascii mode you can enter all characters 
  44.                  available on the Series 3a keyboard and also all 
  45.                  combinations with <ctrl><number> except the 
  46.                  combination <ctrl><009> (this is the <tab> key). 
  47.                  Each character is written directly to the file. 
  48.                  In binary mode you can enter all values in hex-
  49.                  code (0-9,A-F). The program waits for two valid 
  50.                  keystrokes and then writes the character to the 
  51.                  file. After the first half-byte you can delete 
  52.                  it pressing the <del> key. 
  53.                  Pressing the <esc> key terminates the byte 
  54.                  editing.
  55. <psion> j        asks you for an address to jump to.
  56. <psion> c        pops up a simple hex-calculator. It works in 
  57.                  RPN-mode. That means that you have to enter 
  58.                  operations like this
  59.                  number >enter> number operator number ...
  60.                  Operators can be '+ - * /'.
  61. *** NEW ***      Pressing the number sign (#) as the first sign 
  62.                  changes the the input from hexadecimal to 
  63.                  decimal input.
  64.                  You can calculate only with integers. Dividing 
  65.                  an odd number by an even number gives an 
  66.                  integer.
  67.                  A nice feature of the calculator is that 
  68.                  pressing <psion>j inside the calculator jumps 
  69.                  directly to the calculated address.
  70.                  You can edit the number only with the <del> key.
  71. *** NEW ***      Pressing the monkey tail (@) deletes the input 
  72.                  line.
  73.                  Pressing <psion> j or <esc> terminates the 
  74.                  calculator.
  75. <psion> f        opens a new screen where you can enter up to 20 
  76.                  characters to search for. These characters can 
  77.                  be entered either in hexadecimal or ascii mode.
  78.                  In ascii mode you can enter all characters 
  79.                  available on the Series 3a keyboard and also all 
  80.                  combinations with <ctrl><number> except the 
  81.                  combination <ctrl><009> (this is the <tab> key). 
  82.                  Each character is written directly to the file. 
  83.                  In binary mode you can enter all values in hex-

  97.                  Pressing <enter> starts the search at the  
  98.                  current cursor position. 
  99. *** NOTE ***     The search is case sensitive.
  100. <psion> g        repeats the search with the actual search string 
  101.                  from the current cursor position.
  102. <psion> x        exits the program.
  103. <menu>           let you enter all the above functions.
