Instructions for using the Mig29 II demo on the PC.
The program is called MIG29M.EXE.
The program runs in VGA or EGA. The command line argument selects
which. It can be v, V, e, E, c, C, vga, ega, cga, EGA, VGE, CGA.
The default is VGA.
If you have a fast PC with a good analog joystick then the full aircraft
model should be used. This is selected by pressing CTRL A.
The demo features the first runway in the conflict scenario of the main
game.
Use the red mark in the HUD or the green line on the compass to get to
a waypoint. Use ';' to change to the next waypoint.
The combined infra-red tracker and radar display shows ground targets as
yellow points and air targets as green points. The bearing to a nearby
aircraft is show as a green line when out of view of the laser ranger or
radar. Incoming missiles are shown as red lines.
Weapons are:
Cannon is always available.
S-240 unguided rockets.
AA-8 aphid heat seeking air to air missile. Hud marker turns red for
good lock.

The program JOYSTICK.EXE creates a file JCALIB with joystick calibration
information which may be necessary for some joysticks.
Changing processor speed while running requires recalibration of joysticks.
CTRL Z will do this while the game is running. Move the joystick to its
limits in both directions before pushing a button to continue.
If you have a second joystick for rudder and throttle the demo can be run
in VGA only by typing MIG29M 1 2 3 4, where the numbers are the joystick
channel to assign to roll, pitch, yaw and throttle respectively.
A further 4 arguments, each +1 or -1 will change the polarity of the
corresponding input.
For example to run with a joystick for roll and pitch and pedals for rudder
type MIG29M 1 2 3 0. To use throttle input but not rudder: MIG29M 1 2 0 4.
To use only one joystick with roll reversal type MIG29M 1 2 0 0 -1.
