  1. This is Cal 3.02. It is a calendar desk accessory suitable for
  2. solo use or for shared use over a Appleshare or TOPs network.
  3.  
  4. It is a permanent calendar, for any year covered by our
  5. current calendar. It handles the fact that 2000 is not a
  6. leap year but 1900 is (the division by 400 rule.)
  7. You may associate up to 32k of text with any day.
  8.  
  9. Cal has on-line help, just press the Help button in the 
  10. About box. It also tells you which day of the year this is
  11. and the number of days remaining in the year.
  12.  
  13. Text is stored in a calendar database consisting of one
  14. master folder. Inside the master folder is a separate
  15. folder for each year, inside that up to 12 folders, one
  16. for each month, and inside that are up to 31 text files,
  17. one for each day. Since each text message is any separate
  18. file, people can change different parts of the database 
  19. simultaneously without fear.

  21. You may have many calendar databases, just use the Open
  22. button to select the one you want to use. Cal remembers
  23. it, so you start up using that one next time.

  25. Cal periodically checks to see if other programs have
  26. changed the calendar database, so it can be used on a
  27. network.

  29. If you write protect a calendar database in the Finder,
  30. then only you will be able to change that calendar database.

  32. Also in this posting is a companion program, "Calendar Tools",
  33. which can convert calendar files from my earlier "Calendar"
  34. program. It can also pack an entire calendar database into
  35. a single text file for maintenance. In fact, it can convert
  36. from any of the three formats to any of the three formats.
  37. Calendar Tools can also set Cal's week to begin on any day,
  38. for you users outside the U.S.

  40. Cal is shareware. I am asking for $15.00 for the first node,
  41. $15 each for the first 10 nodes,
  42. $14 each for nodes number 11-20
  43. $13 each for nodes number 21-30
  44. $12 each for nodes number 31-40
  45. $11 each for nodes number 41-50
  46. and so on down to
  47. $2 each for every node after 130 (U.S. currency please.)

  49. Don't pay if you don't use Cal. If you do use it, but just don't
  50. like it, pay and complain, and I'll do my best to resolve your
  51. complaints in my next version. If you use it, and like it, please
  52. send money and praise.

  55. calendar program, please deduct that sum from your check for
  56. this program, and tell me so.  Even if I didn't cash your check.
  57. At my old shareware rates, I couldn't afford to buy enough of my 
  58. own consulting time to answer every letter. This is my way of
  59. apologizing, and thanking you for being loyal customers.

  61. CE Software's Calendar Maker program can import old Calendar
  62. data files, so you can print with that, for the moment.
