IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MICROSOFT ENTERTAINMENT PACK
********************************************************
SETUP
To run setup, start Windows as you normally do. Insert the
disk Games (or Games 1 if you are using low-density disks)
into drive A. Choose Run from the File Menu in the Program
Manager. In the Command Line box, type A:SETUP and press
the ENTER key.
Setup can take a while to run on some machines. Do not be
alarmed if it seems like nothing is happening for several
moments. Running from a floppy disk and decompressing files
can take a while. This would be a good time to get a cup of
coffee (instant is fine, it isn't that slow), as after
installation, you may be at your computer for a while.
INSTALLING MULTIPLE MICROSOFT ENTERTAINMENT PACKS
There are several different volumes available of the Microsoft
Entertainment Pack, each with its own unique set of games and
IdleWild screen savers. If you have multiple Volumes, you
will want to access all the screen savers at the same time.
This can be ensured by following these directions:
1.) Install all Microsoft Entertainment Packs into the same
directory on your hard disk. A directory called \WEP is
recommended when you run setup in any of the Entertainment
Packs. If you choose another directory, make sure you install
all your Entertainment Packs into that same directory.
Installing your Entertainment Packs into the same directory
ensures there is no duplication of files on your hard disk
and the screen savers are all accessible at once (screen
saver modules need to be in the same directory as the IdleWild
saver).
2) Install Microsoft Entertainment Pack Volume One before
other Volumes. By installing later Volumes last, you ensure
the most recent version of IdleWild is on your machine.
Each Entertainment Pack creates its own group in the Program
Manager. You can combine these into a single group by dragging
icons from one group to another.
BEGINNING TO PLAY
Open the Entertainment Pack group in the Program Manager and
double-click on the icon of the game you wish to play.
LEARNING TO PLAY
The rules for each game are provided in the on-line help.
Within each game, press the F1 key or select Index from the Help
menu. It is recommended you read through all the help information
before playing. Browse through the help with the buttons at the
top of the screen.
NOTES ON INDIVIDUAL GAMES
JigSawed:
JigSawed is not compatible with 256 color bitmaps. Do not try to
open 256 color bitmaps into this application. Further, do not
open the file chess.bmp included with Microsoft Windows 3.0 into
JigSawed. It can occasionally cause a system crash.
REMEMBER, GAMES DON'T KILL PRODUCTIVITY, PEOPLE DO.
