  4. DiskStat is a simple utility to help you keep track of your free harddisk space 
  5. and to monitor the changes in the size of your SWAPPER file. 
  6.

  16. When you start DiskStat, you may provide up to three parameters to adjust the 
  17. behavior: 
  18.  
  19. o A drive letter (e.g., "C:") 
  20. o A numeric value to determine how often DiskStat examines the disk for changes 
  21. o Initial screen placement. 
  22.  
  23. The drive letter must be a single letter followed by a colon. The numeric value 
  24. is in milliseconds (1000 equals 1 second). The initial placement must be an '@' 
  25. character followed by a number from one to nine indicating screen position as 
  26. follows: 
  27.  
  28.  1. Top left corner 
  29.  2. Centered at top 
  30.  3. Top right corner 
  31.  4. Centered at left 
  32.  5. Centered on screen 
  33.  6. Centered at right 
  34.  7. Lower left corner 
  35.  8. Centered at bottom 
  36.  9. Lower right corner 
  37.  
  38. If the drive letter is omitted, the current drive is used.  If the numeric 
  39. parameter is omitted it defaults to 1000.  If the placement is omitted it 
  40. defaults to 5.

  43.     DISKSTAT E: 2000 @1

  45. In the example, DiskStat is directed to examine drive E:, to refresh its 
  46. display every 2 seconds (2000 milliseconds), and to place the window initially 
  47. at the top left corner of the PM screen.

  49. While DiskStat is running, it displays: 
  50.  
  51. o The drive letter and label of the disk it is monitoring 
  52. o The file system installed on the target disk (FAT or HPFS) 
  53. o The total amount of disk space on the drive 
  54. o The current amount of free disk space 
  55. o The total disk usage presented as a percentage 
  56.  
  57. If the target disk contains the system swapper file, the current size of the 
  58. swap file is also presented.  The last two or three values (depending on 
  59. whether the swapper file is being monitored) are redetermined periodically. The 
  60. period is determined by the numeric command line parameter used when DiskStat 
  61. was started.

  63. There is an item labeled "Overall..." on DiskStat's system menu.  Select this 
  64. item to display a dialog which contains some statistics gathered during the 
  65. current DiskStat session: 
  66.  
  67. o The time DiskStat was started 
  68. o The current time 
  69. o The length of time DiskStat has been active (in hours, minutes, seconds) 
  70. o The smallest amount of free space reported during that duration 
  71. o The largest amount of free space reported during that duration 
  72.  
  73. When DiskStat is minimized, the percent of disk space in use will be shown in 
  74. its icon.  This value is updated in the icon just as it is in the main window 
  75. display.

  124. originally for OS/2 1.1, it was one the very first such programs written

  127. recommended telecommunications programs for OS/2!

  160. user has when working at the OS/2 command prompt by adding aliases and macros, 
  161. enhanced and extended command line recall and editing functions, extended 
  162. command set, enhanced batch language, and provisions for user-created 
  163. extensions.
