  9. CHKANSI2.EXE was formerly CHKANSI.EXE
  10. likewise, CHKANSI2.ARC was formerly CHKANSI.ARC
  11.  
  12. Version 2 has been named CHKANSI2 so as not to cause confusion with
  13. version 1 of CHKANSI.
  14.  
  15. Version 1 had the following two problems:
  16.  
  17.    1) Due to an oversight in compilation, we left the 80286 code
  18.       generation switches on. As a result, version 1 would only work
  19.       on 80286 and 80386 machines. Anyone trying the program on an 8088,
  20.       8086, or 80186 machine would find that the program would not run!
  21.       (ie: if you had a PC or XT, the program wouldn't run - you needed
  22.       a minumum of an AT).

  24.    2) A coding error which would only report the first occurence of any
  25.       redefinition within a redefined key (ie: if <F1> was redefined to
  26.       "ERASE *.EXE<CR> ERASE *.COM<CR>", then only "ERASE *.EXE" would
  27.       be reported).

  29. Version 2 (this version) supercedes version 1 and should be used on ALL
  30. machines regardless of CPU type. If you have version 1, please destroy
  31. it. If you are a Sysop of a BBS or information service, please delete
  32. version 1.

  34. DISTRIBUTION NOTES:

  36. This program is distributed in Archived format, or any other kind of
  37. format so long as the following naming convention is used:
  38.  
  39.    CHKANSI2.xxx  -  For BBS's
  40.    CKANS2.xxx    -  For Compuserve or any other information service
  41.                     where only 6 characters before the ".xxx" are
  42.                     allowed.

  44. ".xxx" is usually .ARC or .PAK
  45.
