  7. ABSTRACT          Storyboard (TM) Live! Version 2.0 is a second generation
  8.            multimedia application based on the IBM Storyboard Live! Version 1.0
  9.            product that lets the user mix video, audio, animation, still
  10.            photography, painting, music and text to produce high-quality,
  11.            animated, on-screen presentations.  IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0
  12.            is also part of the Ultimedia (TM) Tools Series from IBM.
  13.                   Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is designed to further enhance
  14.            and extend the current application capabilities in painting, text,
  15.            video, music and voice.  Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 consists of
  16.            five modules (programs) and is used with the Personal System/2 (R)
  17.            (PS/2 (R)) family to capture and create picture (screen display)
  18.            presentations to be given using a PS/2 or compatible system with a
  19.            color monitor.
  20.                   The Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 product consists of five
  21.            modules:
  22.            o   Electronic Presentation is the key organizational module.  As the
  23.                user designs the presentation, Electronic Presentation
  24.                automatically writes an electronic "storyline" -- a list of all
  25.                the screens and effects entered.  The storyline lets the user
  26.                track every edit, every audio cue, every video sequence -- and
  27.                rearrange them with simple point-and-select commands.
  28.            o   The Picture Maker module is used to create pictures (screen
  29.                displays) of text, figures and graphs.  An 800-image clip art
  30.                library of pictures and symbols is also provided for "cut and
  31.                paste."
  32.            o   The Picture Taker module is used to capture text and graphics
  33.                screen images from DOS, Windows (1) and OS/2 (R) programs for
  34.                inclusion in a presentation.
  35.            o   The Story Editor module is used to turn all individual screens
  36.                into one compelling story.  The user can link them with special
  37.                transition effects timed to match a musical beat or audio voice
  38.                over.
  39.            o   The Story Teller module is used to present the stories.  The
  40.                Story Teller module and stories can be redistributed on diskettes
  41.                for stand-alone presentations.

  75.            IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is a powerful multimedia application
  76.            that combines video, audio, animation, still photography, painting,
  77.            music and text to produce high-quality, animated, on-screen
  78.            presentations.  Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 incorporates a new user
  79.            interface to allow the user to access the program functions through a
  80.            visually enhanced menu.
  81.                   Individual creativity and the tools provided in Storyboard
  82.            Live!  Version 2.0 allow users to develop presentations with impact
  83.            and style.

  85.            In addition to the more than forty-five IBM and compatible computers,
  86.            IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 supports the newly announced IBM
  87.            Ultimedia computers.
  88.                   Many additional printers, audio, video and other input/output

  90.            enhancement combinations.
  91.                   IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 can be a very effective
  92.            marketing tool.  Presentations created using Storyboard Live! can

  95.            IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is used to make sales/marketing

  105.            saved as RIFF (DIB) files for use in other graphic software.

  109.            be imported directly to the Picture Maker module, greatly expanding

  375.            to operate with any of the following operating systems:
  376.            o   IBM Disk Operating System (DOS) 3.3, or higher

  379.            COMPATIBILITY:  IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is upward compatible
  380.            with previous versions of IBM Storyboard Live! Version 1.0 and
  381.            Storyboard Plus Version 1.0 and 2.0.
  382.            LIMITATIONS:  IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 does not support the
  383.            CGA (320 x 200 -- 4 colors) resolution mode.  Output from this
  384.            resolution mode created with PC Storyboard and Storyboard Plus will
  385.            not be accepted by Storyboard Live! Version 2.0.
  386.            PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS:  Performance considerations should
  387.            include the amount of data being displayed, the density of objects in
  388.            an IBM Storyboard Live! Version  2.0 display, as well as the system
  389.            unit on which IBM Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is executing.

  484.                   The available order types are as follows:
  485.            o   Program Package -- program diskette with documentation.
  486.            o   Additional License Copies -- authorization  for the customer who
  487.                has a program package to make a single copy of the program
  488.                diskette and documentation.  There are two ways to receive
  489.                authorization to copy.  Receipt of the invoice authorizes the
  490.                customer to make the Additional License Copy.  The IBM Customer
  491.                Agreement (ICA) must be in effect.  The customer also has the
  492.                option of ordering a Proof of Additional License certificate.  In
  493.                which case, the ICA is not required.  Additional License Copies
  494.                can be obtained through an authorized remarketer.
  495.            o   Program Package Upgrade  -- program diskette with documentation.
  496.            o   Additional License Copy Upgrade -- authorization  for the
  497.                customer who has a program package upgrade to make a single copy
  498.                of the program diskette and documentation.  Receipt of the
  499.                invoice authorizes the customer to make the Additional License
  500.                Copy upgrade.  The ICA must be in effect.  The customer also has
  501.                the option of ordering a Proof of Additional License Upgrade
  502.                certificate.  In which case, the ICA is not required.  Additional
  503.                License Copy Upgrade can be obtained through an authorized
  504.                remarketer.
  505.            IBM EDUCATION FULFILLMENT CENTER:  The announced program is eligible
  506.            to be ordered through the IBM Education Fulfillment Center.
  507.            Availability through the IBM Education Fulfillment Center may not
  508.            coincide with the programming availability dates noted in other
  509.            sections of this document.
  510.                   The IBM Education Fulfillment Center is the order processing
  511.            location for selected personal computers and related hardware and
  512.            software for eligible education end users.
  513.            PROGRAM UPGRADE
  514.                   The program package upgrade option allows currently licensed
  515.            users of any previous version of PC Storyboard, Storyboard Plus or
  516.            Storyboard Live!  to obtain the new function for a program upgrade
  517.            charge.  The program upgrade to Storyboard Live! Version 2.0 is
  518.            available from November 20, 1992.  Orders will be accepted after
  519.            November 20, 1992.
  520.                   Customers who would like to upgrade to Storyboard Live!
  521.            Version 2.0 should use the IBM Personal Computer/System Program US
  522.            Upgrade and Certification Order Form included with this announcement,
  523.            or call 800-426-9402 to request a Program Upgrade Order Form.
  524.                   The completed IBM Personal Computer/System Program US Upgrade
  525.            and Certification Order Form, proof of license (this is the front
  526.            cover page of the User's Guide) and appropriate payment should be
  527.            mailed to the following address in the form of a check (personal or
  528.            company) or money order payable to the IBM Corporation or credit card
  529.            (American Express, Visa, MasterCard or IBM Credit Card), with account
  530.            number and expiration date.

  534.                   Customers may also order upgrades through IBM Authorized
  535.            Personal Computer Dealers and Industry Remarketers--Personal
  536.            Computers certified to market IBM Authorized Advanced Products.  The
  537.            remarketer will require a proof of license for each upgrade ordered.
  538.            The original proof of license is the colored front cover page (inside
  539.            the hard binder) or the separate proof of license page in the program
  540.            package as identified by IBM to the remarketer.
  541.                   Customers may also order upgrades through the IBM branch
  542.            office by using the IBM Personal Computer/System Program US Upgrade
  543.            and Certification Order Form.
  544.                   To receive program package upgrades at a discount, the ICA and
  545.            a volume discount addendum with the appropriate volume discount
  546.            exhibit must be in effect.
  547.                   The order may only be placed through the IBM branch office
  548.            using the IBM Personal Computer/System Program US Upgrade and
  549.            Certification Order Form.
  550.                   To receive additional license upgrades at a discount, the ICA
  551.            and a volume discount addendum with the appropriate volume discount
  552.            exhibit must be in effect.  The total quantity of upgrades acquired
  553.            for a specific program may not exceed the total quantity of program
  554.            packages and additional licenses previously acquired for that
  555.            program.  Proof of license for upgrade eligibility for additional
  556.            license upgrades is a copy of this invoice or previously acquired
  557.            proof of additional license certificate.
  558.                   Additional license upgrades can be entered through the branch
  559.            office by using the IBM Personal Computer/System Program US Upgrade
  560.            and Certification Order Form, or ordered through an authorized
  561.            remarketer.
  562.            TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  563.            LICENSING:  The program in this announcement is licensed under the
  564.            terms and conditions of the IBM Program License Agreement.  A copy of
  565.            the agreement is included in the program package.
  566.            ADDITIONAL LICENSE:  The ICA must be in effect, or Proof of
  567.            Additional License certificate must be acquired.

  591.            TESTING PERIOD:  Two months for program packages.  The ICA must be in

  593.            NATIONAL EDUCATION LICENSE FEE:  A National Education License Fee
  594.            (NELF) is available under the terms and conditions of the Education
  595.            Allowance Attachment.  The NELF, which represents a 35% discount off
  596.            the single unit price, is not subject to any further discount or
  597.            allowance.
