you will need x00v149a.zip (you can get it here) if you are running more than
one line. If running one line I hear that x00v124 works fine.

Yes George, i used the standard install (all options) which requried about 30
meg of hard drive space.
> 2. what about the BOOT option? a. Dual Boot, OS2/Only?
> Dual Op-system?
I opted for the dual boot setup, glad i did too. Since I had troubles getting
my bbs to fly under os2, when i finsished working on it for the day I would
just select the dual boot feature and reboot dos5 to bring up my bbs again.
(just till i got the os2 stuff running), Was a definite plus.

> Fix format?
Nope, no reformatting here, at least not at install time, it
installs just fine over your fat formatted drives. Have not used hpfs yet and
probably won't for some time to come as I really need the dos compatibility
for a while.

Qemm will NOT work in a VDM. But there are settings under dos settings for
each vdm that will allow you to load dos high, have umbs etc etc. and it will
also provide both EMS and XMS memory to your apps, these are all configurable
on a global basis or per VDM basis, your choice when configuring the system.
If you want ALL VDM's to have the same settings you set everything up in the
os2 config.sys and it will all propogate thru to each dos box you start up.

I don't yet, but it's a simple matter of putting them in your startup folder,
then they will get run everytime you boot. FOr now though I am starting them
manually. If for some reason the system reboots (power fail etc) os2 is smart
enough to remember what it had running at the time and restarts the tasks
automatically. So really there is no reason to have them in the startup
folder untill you get everything running to your satifaction.
> 6. any problem with Archivers? PkZip/Pak, LHa, ARJ ?
Nope all the dos archivers work properly in the dos box. AND there are os2
specific arc/unarcs available out there. Haven't really used any of them yet
so I can't comment on them.

Sorry, i have NO experience with lans of any kind, but i do see messages
flying back and forth in the os2bbs echo and os2 echo about lans, so there
are people doing it. Just don't know any myself.

Good luck with your os2, and if you manage to get some way of having BOTH
reliable receives at 14400 and FAST transmits at 14400, please let me know.
Right now I can have one or the other but haven't figured a way to have BOTH
yet. Still working on it. :)
