There are two non-interactive self-running demos (Math Munchers Deluxe and Oregon Trail II) included on the Opening Night cd. For more information refer to the Demo ReadMe (READMED.WRI file) in the WINDEMO directory.

A: First, check the CD (the shiny side with no printing on it). Hold it up to a light and check for scratches or other marks that would affect it. If you can see a mark, the laser can, too! Clean the CD GENTLY with a soft, lint-free cloth, or put it under some running water to try and loosen any debris. Call MECC Customer Support within the first 90 days of purchase if you feel you need a new CD.

Q: I may need to remove Opening Night from my machine sometime in the future. What is the installer putting on my hard drive?
A: If you are using Windows 3.1, 3.11, or Windows for Workgroups:
The installer created a directory called C:\MECC\Opennite and placed these files in there:
on16.exe application
fbvngn.exe
fbvspch.dll
fbvtimer.dll
path.txt
sndlib16.dll
The installer also created a MECC group and placed a Opening Night icon there.
The files opennite.ini and opnvw.ini were created in the C:\Windows directory
(or the directory from which you have Windows running) at application launch.
The following files were placed in the C:\Windows\System directory:
wing.dll
wingdib.drv
wingding.ttf
wingding.fot
wingpal.wnd
A voices16 folder was installed at the Root level of the drive (C:\voices16).
If you are using Windows 95:
To remove Opening Night from your hard drive, click on My Computer, and then open the Control Panels folder. In the Control Panels folder, there will be a panel called Add/Remove programs. Select Opening Night from the list that appears in this panel, and follow the prompts.

Q: As I was playing Opening Night, all of a sudden the screen froze / the machine crashed.
A: Make sure you have enough RAM available.
First, We do not guarantee our products to run with RAM-doubling software. If you are using it, disable it and try running the game without it.
Second, make sure that you have no other applications running, such as word processors and screen savers.
Third, turn off "Third-party shells" such as KidDesk, Navigator, TabWorks, and Ace Explorer.
Certain configurations have problems with memory, particularly if you have Windows for Workgroups on a 4MB machine. If your machine does not have the minimum requirements as listed above, we cannot guarantee this product will run.
You may also want to make sure that you have a permanent swap file created; refer to the Windows user's manual for more information.
NOTE: DO NOT create a permanent swap file on a compressed hard drive. Bad things will happen!
-----
Q: The sound is really choppy.
A: Make sure that you have a Windows-compatible sound card with the most recent version of the sound driver. Call your computer manufacturer or sound card manufacturer to see if you have the most recent version.
-----
Q: My picture is too small / displays goofy colors.
A: The ideal resolution/color setting for Opening Night is 640x480x256 colors. If the video driver you are using supports fewer than 256 colors, see your computer manual about how to change to a video driver with 256 colors or better. If you are running Windows 95, the operating system will compensate for it. Also, make sure that you have the most updated version of the driver for your video card as well. Call your computer manufacturer or video card manufacturer for details.

Q: I'm having trouble getting the Opening Night Script to print out correctly!
A: Save the script then open it and try printing from WordPad or any text reader program.
