- FIGURE 29.2-7C. A patient with a squamous cell carcinoma of the
- nasopharynx that was staged as T2, N0. This patient was treated before
- there was three-dimensional treatment planning. A three-field
- arrangement was used, which included two posterior oblique portals
- that protected the spinal cord but treated the posterior extent of
- disease. A small portion of the posterior aspect of the disease is
- underdosed by 20%, even with this plant. This area was boosted with
- I-125 implant. The patient had no evidence of disease at 5 years.
