- I have been LaTeX'ing on my ST for about 3 years now, and have always
- dreamed of an ST program similar to Fig for Suns! But such a beast I have
- never seen, up till now!
-
- I just downloaded from forwiss.uni-passau.de in the /pub/atari/tex directory
- a great looking file called texdraw.lzh. I unlharced it, and found that
- the majority of the document and program is in German.
-
- BUT DOES THIS PROGRAM LOOK GREAT!! Do any of our bi-lingual net readers
- know if there are any plans for an English version of this program??
- I only know that if such a beast exists, or is in the planning stage, many
- of us ST/LaTeX freaks would love it!! Anyone willing to check on this??
- How about just an english version of the .rsc file??
-
- Heck, this thing is so impressive, I may learn to read German just to use
- it! I'm talking one very slickly done piece of graphics/TeX tool here!

- To: Info-Atari16@naucse.cse.nau.edu
-
- Several people have been had trouble installing HacMan II of late. I
- believe all these problems are related to lack of sufficient disk space
- when extracting the archives. If anyone's been unable to get it working,
- please let me know. (If you've got 0-byte files, that's a sign that
- you need a bigger RAMdisk or HD directory when extracting...)
-
- For those of you with single-sided floppy systems, version 1.14 had a file
- misnamed, thereby causing the game to abort instead of prompting for
- disk 2. That's been fixed in version 1.15, which can be FTPed from
- atari.archive.umich.edu:atari/newitems/hacmn215.arc.
-
- Since this is a particularly annoying problem for SS floppy users, I would
- (once again) greatly appreciate it if people with access to GEnie,
- Compuserve, etc., could update the copies posted on those on-line
- services.
-
- Sorry for any headaches the "bug" may have caused.

- I've been playing the IMMORTAL on level 2, and have been stuck there
- for some time. I've got everything from the level-- killed the orc
- king and he told me his message. He is specific about "... three
- jewels ..." but I have only two and the stone. I would assume that
- there is some way to turn the stone into a gem to get to the next
- level, but I haven't been able to find out how to do it. He did say
- "... rock become floor ...", which could be a reference to the stone,
- but I dunno. How does one obtain that last gem? and BTW, has anyone
- been able to get back up to the first level? The instructions say
- "... move up to it [ladder] and you'll automatically climb ..." but I
- haven't been able to do it. (I wanted to do so to use the light &
- amulet on the stone to see if it would turn into the last gem). Also,
- has anyone been able to escape out of a pit trap by "gently rocking
- the joystick back and forth at an even pace?" Those traps always get me!

-
- Unless the Prospero people have lost their good sense, their
- h files should be interchangable with anybody else's .h files.
- I haven't used Prospero, but I have looked at the manual, and
- their GEM libraries seemed conventional.
-
- Of course, you should post any .H files written for the application,
- including .H files generated by a resource editor.
-
- GEMFAST (for Sozobon, Alcyon and assembler) uses a single GEMFAST.H
- file in lieu of the standard obdefs.h and gemdefs.h files. The
- portable solution (on a system using GEMFAST) is to install
- files bearing the standard names but consisting of the following
- lines:
-
- #ifndef GEMFAST_H
- #include <GEMFAST.H>
- #endif
-
- If a lot of GEMFAST-dependent code starts showing up, it may be
- worthwhile to write a GEMFAST.H file that #includes the standard
- files and #defines fsel_exinput if your compiler lacks that
- binding.

- I'm kinda not surprised about this. To change from mono to color on the ST,
- the ST *usually* requires a warm boot.
-
- However, I was playing with EMULA, which is a pretty good monochrome emulator,

- While reading the FoReM Network (Programming Crossnet), I noticed a
- message from a user that dealt with the release of XYZ 3.3. The user did
- not say where the program could be found, so I decided to ask for it
- here. I would appreciate it if anyone who has this program could mail it
- to me, or give me information about this release of the program. At t
- time, it is not even clear if XYZ 3.3 is an official release. I hope it
- is, as this is a wonderful Zmodem/Ymodem Batch transfer utility. Thank
- you (I hope).
