  4.                       The Multi-line/Multi-Task GEM BBS

  6.      SCHAUZMOLL Soft. is is about to release  a new BBS system like nothing
  7. you  have  ever  seen  on the  Atari  platform.   The  Oracle  System  will
  8. revolutionize  the  way you  communicate by  modem.  Forget everything you
  9. ever  known about "BBSing"  and enter  the area of "GUI-Telecommunication".
  10. Oracle  is like being on the GEM desktop,  so you can use your mouse to go
  11. where you  want to go,  see what you  want and get it  without your fingers
  12. touching the keyboard.

  14.      From  the SysOp  point of  view Oracle  is a  totally  new approach to
  15. running and maintaining a bulletin board system. There is no separate system
  16. editor  or user  editor programs  since they are  included in  the main BBS
  17. program.  This make  Oracles menus  react instantly  to any changes made to
  18. the setup  of your sigs,  message bases,  informations sections, etc.. It is
  19. possible  to edit any  menu,  create message base or files section at will.
  20. For example,  let's say  that your  Co-SysOp is  chatting with  you on-line
  21. and  propose adding  a new  section on  programming in  GFA basic so he can
  22. upload his latest creation. What do you do??? You get out of the chat mode,
  23. you press the help key on your keyboard and the System Editor Menu pops up,
  24. you press the edit this menu button et voila! You can edit the current menu
  25. on line,  save it and check  it out immediately  because the change are made
  26. right away. The system really works like you would go and search for a file
  27. on a big hard  disk with  many folders  containing  many files. In fact all
  28. the menus  in Oracle are  like folders on a hard disk.  Folders can contain
  29. files or other  folders,  so an Oracle  menu can  contains others  menus or
  30. different kind of files like messages, programs, texts files, doors, etc....
  31. There  is  _NO_  limit  to the  number  of sub  menus  that the  system can
  32. handle. Every items in the Oracle system, from menus to files sections, are
  33. presented as icons in a window just like the desktop so anyone who has used
  34. his computer  for a couple  of weeks can easily travel trough Oracle.  Also
  35. all files  transfer (upload & download)  are done in  the background so you
  36. can go anywhere else on the BBS at the same time.

  70.        with hard disk since floppy disks are too slow.

  75. program capable of displaying properly all the information. This means that
  76. every one  who wishes to  communicate  with the  Oracle  system needs that
  77. special  terminal...   How can your  user get their  new terminal???  Easy!
  78. When  a  user calls  Oracle for  the first  time the  System  recognize him
  79. as a  new user  and ask him if he wants to register and receive the special
  80. terminal  needed so  he can call  back and explore  the new system.  If the
  81. "new"  user agree  he can  download  the  terminal  using x,  y  or Zmodem,
  82. uncompress the file and register at home,  then call back to instantly gain
  83. access to your BBS!
