- >>> STAR TREK: VOYAGER IN THE NEWS <<<
-
-
-
- Genevieve Bujold was cast as Capatain Elizabeth Janeway at the
- beginning of September but she walked off the set on the second/third
- day of filming. The official story is .......
-
- "Genevieve Bujold has resigned her role in Star Trek: Voyager. After
- several days of production, she realized that the rigors of episodic
- television were much too demanding", said producers Rick Berman,
- Michael Piller and Jeri Taylor.
-
- Other reasons for her leaving include: ......
-
- 1) Rick Berman announced that Bujold left "Star Trek: Voyager" because
- of creative differences.
-
- 2) After 'three days' of shooting on Star Trek: Voyager Bujold walked
- off the set after repeated conflicts with director Rick Kolbe.
-
- 3) Bujold stated, "I did not study acting to play a cartoon character"
- to explain why she walked out on "Star Trek: Voyager".
-
- ....... other reasons given for Bujold's leaving are that she objected
- to the hair and makeup help provided to her; that she was unfamiliar
- with the Star Trek series and its prominence in American pop culture
- and, that Bujold is adamantly against giving news interviews.
-
-
- Jerry Goldsmith will be composing the Main Title Theme for the TV
- series, but the two hour opening episode will be scored by Jay
- Chataway.
