  7. Text, graphic and text/graphics adventures
  8.  
  9. PD 190: ADVSYS plus an extended version of Colossal Adventure
  10. PD 191: Castle of Doom - text and graphics
  11. PD 192: The Golden Fleece - text
  12. PD 193: The Holy Grail - text, needs 1 meg
  13. PD 275: Midnight Thief - text or text/graphics adventure by Dylan
  14.         Thomas. 1 meg. Runs perfectly on A500+/A600 using PD 510
  15. PD 429: Catacomb - icon-driven, graphical adventure (NOT A1200)
  16. PD 508: Thrallbound - text/graphics
  17. PD 509: A Night at the Top - text
  18. PD 564: 6 Amigabasic adventures - Atlantis, Grungy Towers, Jedi,
  19.         Ring World, Safari and Star Trek.  Rather small and
  20.         simplistic, no documentation. Comes with the needed
  21.         Amigabasic interpreter.  Plus World - V1.00 - Simple but
  22.         neat adventure in the vein of "Colossal", but with more of
  23.         a sci-fi theme. Has a small document.  All text.
  24. PD 565: Zut Alors! - V2.00 - Excellent, very funny farce set in
  25.         "musketeer"-era France. Written with "Hatrack II adventure
  26.         generator" in a French accent! Optional mouse control and
  27.         great documentation.  Plus Life After Death - V1.1 -
  28.         Interesting adventure, written in AMOS, with good
  29.         documentation. There is a disturbance in the afterlife
  30.         which can only be investigated when you're dead! You can
  31.         skip between 2 characters. Both text.
  32. PD 566: Dark Staff - This is actually an emulated Spectrum 128K
  33.         game, emulator obviously included along with full
  34.         instructions. Not bad, considering the rather slow speed.
  35.         (Definitely PD by the way).  Plus Jungle Quest - A
  36.         T.A.C.L. game, which includes the PADV system itself and
  37.         all the game source-files. It's really only a glorified
  38.         demo, but quite playable. A small doc is included. Both
  39.         text/graphics.
  40.  
  41. PD 578: Frustration - V920420/11.49/001 - Jim MacBrayne's latest,
  42.         fully documented of course. Aunt Maude's shopping-list has
  43.         flown away; chasing it, you fall down a strange hole. Text.
  44. PD 580: Rolta (Return of the living Text Adventure) - V1.0B - This
  45.         2-disk set is really something. It's a cut-down version of
  46.         a shareware game, lacking one of the graphics disks and
  47.         the SAVE/LOAD facility. However, most of the game seems to
  48.         be there - and what a game! Beautiful graphics, great
  49.         text, optional mouse-control, amazing menu-items like the
  50.         'about' box showing digitized photos of the authors....
  51.         Great! 2 disks, £3.50 (A1200 compatible)
  52. PD 585: TALISMAN - ** REQUIRES 2 Mb. OF MEMORY ! ** - Another
  53.         brilliant 2-disk set, this time a full game! Though it has
  54.         the look of a normal adventure, the game is controlled by
  55.         mouse only.  Monochrome graphics (like digitized
  56.         pencil-drawings - superb quality) accompany most locations
  57.         - these are all loaded into RAM first, resulting in an
  58.         extremely fast game. Get it! 2 disks, £3.50
  59. PD 625: Storyland 2 - a point and click adventure for children.
  60.  
  61. PD 626: Starbase 13 - a point and click graphics adventure,
  62.         written with AMOS. 2 disks, £3.50
  63. PD 653: Atlantis - Colourful, graphical game written in
  64.         AmigaBasic. Set in Atlantis, lots of combat - the usual.
  65.         Fans of the of the plan-view, slow, mouse-run genre will
  66.         like it. Translated document.
  67. PD 654: Box plus Maths Adventure - Box, written in AMOS, is the
  68.         second (and much better) text adventure by the author of
  69.         LIFE AFTER DEATH. You play Doran, who undertakes the Quest
  70.         For Residence, the aim of which is to become a God. Maths
  71.         Adventure is a neat puzzle-style game based on solving
  72.         simple equations. Both okay on A1200.
  73. PD 656: Exorcism - An interesting text/graphics adventure, in that
  74.         it's the first example of a game written with the C.A.G.
  75.         writing system I've seen. The action takes place in an
  76.         old, abandoned house. 2 disk set £3.50.
  77. PD 657: Mystery 2144 AD - Another interesting game, mostly due to
  78.         the fact that it's written with Microdeal's TALESPIN. A
  79.         graphical sci-fi theme set in the near future, it's rather
  80.         slow but could be a grower.
  81. PD 658: Neighbours - Yes, Neighbours, the TV-show, in a grapical
  82.         mouse-driven adventure featuring sampled images from the
  83.         telly! 2 disk set £3.50.
  84. PD 725: Battle Force and Island of Nephoton - Battle Force is a
  85.         text adventure with a few samples thrown in, written with
  86.         AMOS.  Island of Nephoton is also a text adventure which
  87.         runs in a CLI window. OK on A1200.
  88. PD 733: Mugsy's Revenge - Amiga version of the Spectrum "classic",
  89.         written with AMOS. Poor grammar and runs slowly.
  90. PD 755: Temporal Misplacement - good text adventure with digitized
  91.         graphics, written with AMOS
  92. PD 756: Ethos - simple graphic adventure
  93.  
  94. AGT Adventures (all A1200 compatible)

  96. PD 353: AGT text adventure writing utility. 2 drives recommended.
  97. PD 426: AGTBIG for the Amiga

  146. PD 537: ABC - Adventure Bank Creator. Create Monkey Island type
  147.         adventures! Requires AMOS.
  148. PD 576: CAG - Create Adventure Games (A500/600+ only) - V1.2 AND
  149.         V1.3 - Latest writing utility. Written with AMOS, seems to
  150.         be very fully featured with excellent documentation, if a
  151.         little difficult to read due to the foreign author's
  152.         English. He seems to be quite committed, so should be
  153.         regularly updated. "Very like the Quill / P.A.W.", he
  154.         claims! See also Exorcism on PD 656 which is written with
  155.         it.
  156. PD 754: TADS v2.0.16 - not completely bug free but at last it's
  157.         here!

  161. RPGs.
  162.  
  163. PD 377: Moria
  164. PD 390: Survivor, needs 1 meg. Colour RPG, looks excellent -
  165.         similar to BSS Jane Seymour.
  166. PD 392: Hack! Improvement on ST version with rudimentary graphics.
  167. PD 393: Return to Earth - strategy/trading game using Battlestar
  168.         Galactica theme (find lost colony of Earth etc). Icon
  169.         driven, new version with instructions in English.
  170. PD 399: Legend of Lothian - single character RPG, Ultima style top
  171.         down view. Works on A500+/600 but even better with PD 510.
  172. PD 567: Antep - V1.0 - Very similar to "Legend Of Lothian", ie a
  173.         plan-view sort of thing.  Graphics quite primitive, if
  174.         colourful. Plays like the rest of its genre. With
  175.         documentation.  Plus Larn - V12.0B - This game is hugely
  176.         similar to "Moria" and "Hack". Lots of menu features, lots
  177.         to do. In fact, it can get very crowded, this kind of game
  178.         with those little graphics...... Brilliant documentation.
  179. PD 579: Dungeons of Avalon 1 - Perhaps the ultimate PD E.O.T.B.
  180.         clone. Excellent. (NOT A1200 regardless of mode or
  181.         Relokick v1.4. See hints section of Issue 30 for info on
  182.         save games/subsequent reloading)
  183. PD 581: Dungeons of Avalon 2 - Follow-up to the above. Even
  184.         better! (NOT A1200 regardless of mode or Relokick v1.4)
  185. PD 583: Dragon Cave - DM-style graphics, featuring full
  186.         instructions, an editor, choice of 2 or 3-dimensional
  187.         playing and great graphics and sound!  Very professional
  188.         looking.
  189. PD 655: Dungeon of Nadroj RPG plus Lore of Conquest wargame -
  190.         Nadroj is yet another Hack/Larn/Moria style game, compiled
  191.         with AC/Basic and in glorious lo-res. Conquest is a rather
  192.         more interesting war game similar to RISK. It's for 2
  193.         players, very neat and grapical, and well documented.
  194. PD 710: Black Dawn - SciFi Dungeon Master/Captive Clone (A1200
  195.         compatible) written with AMOS
  196. PD 726: Assassins 141 - contains Black Dawn (see above) plus
  197.         Reversii II and Gold Rusher (Boulder Dash clone with very
  198.         small sprites. All A1200 compatible tho' Gold Rusher
  199.         crashes when you quit.
  200.  
  201. PD 732: Mechfight - robot RPG like BattleTech. Loads in Workbench
  202.         first.
  203.  
  204. Wargames.
  205.  
  206. PD 536: Iron Clads - needs 1 meg. Surface naval warfare from start
  207.         of century to World War II, programmed in Hi-Soft Basic
  208. PD 655: Lore of Conquest wargame plus Dungeon of Nadroj RPG -
  209.         Conquest is a rather more interesting war game similar to
  210.         RISK.  It's for 2 players, very neat and grapical, and
  211.         well documented.  Nadroj is yet another Hack/Larn/Moria
  212.         style game, compiled with AC/Basic and in glorious lo-res.
  213. PD 728: Task Force - a simple war game like Laser Squad or Act of
  214.         War (A1200 compatible)

  218. PD 652: Act of War - Neat, graphical-strategy sci-fi game, written
  219.         in AMOS. 3 seperate scenarios are included, all fully
  220.         documented.
  221. PD 729: Star Trek - by Tobias Richter, point and click interface.
  222.         Set course, send messages, beam items down etc. 2 disks,
  223.         £3.50. (A1200 compatible)
  224. PD 744: Solar Lords - good strategy game but needs two or more
  225.         people to play properly.

  315.         some doubts whether it works. Terry is looking for another
  316.         version.
  317. PD 543: PC Task, PC emulator, requires DOS. Cutback version of
  318.         shareware program so won't print out.
  319. PD 584: T-Bench V0.1 - Latest version of this Workbench 2
  320.         replacement disk. Features an environment based around the
  321.         DIRWORK directory utility and the EDWORD text-editor,
  322.         with the ability to read and write to MSDOS disks. Many
  323.         useful utilities interface with the system at the click
  324.         of a mousebutton. A500+/600.
  325. PD 651: Spectrum Emulator for ALL Amigas - The latest and best
  326.         ever package of this type for the Amiga, featuring sound
  327.         and performance-speeds based on your processor.
  328.         Essential.
  329. PD 727: Assassins Fix Disk - For the A1200 only. Included utility
  330.         programs to solve some of the software incompatibility
  331.         problems on the A1200; Kick Start 1.3, Fake fast,
  332.         Degrader, Kill AGA etc. Also includes a few commercial
  333.         game fixer programs.

  338. PD 709: Kastle Kumquat - top-down, puzzle-based arcade adventure,

  341. PD 753: Assassins Fix Disk 2 - Degrader disk with several
  342.         utilities including some game fixes to make them
  343.         compatible with the A1200 plus a handy program to stop the
  344.         drives clicking when they are empty - A1200 ONLY!
