The Sun beat down on a landscape that had never seen sunlight, clouds flowed across vistas that would never feel water. Night came to a world which would never see stars.
Inside the POSIAC VR computer a synthetic world evolved - slowly - while scientists studied the areas within. Gradually a synthetic lifeform arose in the ocean, eventually it crawled out of the synthetic ocean to conquer the synthetic land.
Eventually the organisms dominating this world began to inquire as to its beginnings and endings, eventually they decided that, as the world was so perfect it must have been built by an outside Entity. With this in mind they decided to build a structure to let the Entity know they were there.
The construct rose, made out of synthetic mud, synthetic stone, synthetic straw. During this time, the Entities decided to perturb the simulation somewhat,by fragmenting the language....
The place was called Babylon.
Time seriously passed. By cleaving the language, wars arose through misunderstandings - this forced the evolution of this cybernetic species own virtual sciences.
After thousands of simulated years the creatures began building computers and other advanced methods of simulation.
Eventually someone suggested that they make a simulation of the world they inhabited in order to study its behaviour.
