Looking out over the bleak, barren and burnt landscape, the last penguin on Earth contemplated his deteriorating condition. Far off to his left a passing juggernaut belched its noxious excrement into the grey atmosphere as it thundered along the highway which stretched toward the Australian territories.
With a muted sigh he lifted his stained beak skywards as if expecting some compassion from above. None was forthcoming. A resolve welled up from within, a feeling of utter antipathy. A decision was made and with a small scuffing of the ground he waddled off toward the dimly visible setting sun. This penguin, the last surviving member of a once proud, noble and numerous race was to become the worlds first and undoubtably last Kamikaze penguin.
Slipping into the poisoned and corrosive waters of the Antarctica he set off, swimming forcefully toward the AquaBase; his self appointed mission, to seek out, attack, and inflict major flesh wounds on the first human he found. Bravely he mounted the slippery steel slopes of the base, his ungainly body fighting the force of gravity, striving ever upwards.
At the top of the ledge, over the lip, his prey was in sight. A human, unarmed and not expecting a sneak attack. With a squark of feathered fury the last penguin on Earth launched himself into a deeply symbolic attack on the enemy. In years to come, humans would look back on this day with a cold chill in their hearts.
From out of SubSpace the air crackled and span as the Lord High Ellocutioner fought to bring the badly damaged lead ship of the Imperial Bravy under control. With an effort he attained normal space, armed his pencil case and with a defiant battle cry destroyed the large black and white (yet strangely orange) object currently performing evasive manoeuvres, before once again losing stabilization and disappearing forever into the SubSpace void.
Startled by movement off to one side Rob Gray spun round. Before him charred feathers were blowing in the heavy breeze and, if anyone had asked he would have sworn that someone had shouted "Die all Enemies of Perdle."
