  15. Well, I don't believe it.  It's Christmas already and here I am writing a 
  16. Chit Chat for the special Christmas issue of POWER.  I don't know, I used to 
  17. think that Christmas was great; all those presents, all that food, all those 
  18. presents again, more food, some more presents again and then some more food, 
  19. some T.V, no school, more presents, more food.  It was blissful!  Now 
  20. though, as I've grown older, I've been expected to buy better and better 
  21. presents.  Can't they see that I'm a pennyless peasant?!  It is what 
  22. Christmas is all about nowadays; Money.  But hey, I shouldn't be getting us 
  23. all down in our Christmas issue.  We all know that there is something 
  24. special about Christmas and whether you hate Christmas or not, things always 
  25. slightly brighten up and get a bit happier (although your bank balance 
  26. doesn't!).  Parents must love it because they can blackmail their kids with 
  27. it.  I remember when I was in the single figure years and if I didn't go to 
  28. bed at a certain time, Father Christmas wouldn't come.  If I didn't tidy my 
  29. room, Father Christmas wouldn't come.  If I wasn't a good boy, Father 
  30. Christmas wouldn't come.  I could go on forever.  I was constantly 
  31. blackmailed.  If I didn't do a certain thing, then I would get a bag of 
  32. soot.  It got worse the nearer to Christmas it got until it got so bad that 
  33. I was licking my mum and dad's shoes clean!!!  It carried on for a while 
  34. AFTER Christmas as well, telling me how, if I didn't go outside and cut the 
  35. grass with my teeth, old Santa babes wouldn't come next year (okay, so a bit 
  36. of an exaggeration!).

  38. It is a great time of the year though although Christmas seems to start 
  39. earlier and earlier every year doesn't it?  It seems that it's about 
  40. September and they ALREADY have the Christmas cards in and the wrapping 
  41. paper.  For God's sake...I thought Christmas was in December....Well, it is 
  42. in Britain anyway.  Just think, this is the special Christmas issue, but I 
  43. have readers all over the world.  In some places, it's not chirstmas for 
  44. another month or two.  They're probably wondering why the hell I'm doing it 
  45. NOW!

  47. Christmas...Mmmm.....It's around this time, towards the end of the year when 
  48. the most things happen.  We've got Halloween, then about 4 days later, we've 
  49. got Bonfire Night and then just a month or so on, we've got Christmas!!!  
  50. Then again, there seems to be more and more special events appearing all the 
  51. time.  On top of the above, we've got New Year, Boxing Day, Father's day, 
  52. Mother's day, Valentines day and now bloody Grandparents day and a hell of a 
  53. lot more.  It won't be long until we have, 'Long lost brother of friends, 
  54. sisters, fathers day'!!!  There's loads of special weeks as well.  National 
  55. cats week, no smoking week, no drinking week.  Another list that could go on 
  56. forever!!!  It'll get so bad that because there's only 52 weeks a year, you 
  57. will have weeks shared!!!  Nobody cares about these special weeks anyway.  
  58. Who actually stops smoking during No Smoking Week?  Even if they do, it's 
  59. only for the week and then they start up again.  Pointless really!
  60.  
  61. It's all a bit of fun though and Christmas must be the biggest event of the 
  62. year for the whole world.  Everyone celebrates it and everyone knows about 
  63. it and whether some celebrate it on different dates to us, wherever you go, 
  64. you're bound to see decorations and christmassy things all over the world at 
  65. one point or another.

  67. Well, I've chitted and chatted enough I think.  Have a great Christmas and 
  68. remember that POWER will be here to comfort you on the 1st January 1994 for 
  69. the special 12th issue which will not only celebrate New Years Day (because 
  70. that's the day it will be released!) but also the first birthday of POWER. 
  71. It's going to be a massive four disk issue so I need all your articles, P.D
