- The AUTO*ART disk contains five programs for the production of mathe-
- matically-generated artforms. Each program has its own informative DOC file
- included in the folder with the respective program. Each of these four main
- program can produce millions, billions, or even trillions, of unique graphic
- forms!
- These programs can be enjoyed as purely visual experiences without con-
- cern for their mathematical structure. (But it always helps to know what's
- going on!) They make intriguing zero-person games. And the patterns and forms
- which these programs create can be used as creative graphic elements in their
- own right.
-
-
- JEWELBOX.PRG creates generations of remarkable cellular figures that
- sometimes resemble jewels, or oriental carpets, or abstract geometrical art,
- or arabic manuscript decorations, or... Well, it depends on how imaginative
- you get with ink blots in color!
- JEWELBOX is intended to run in low resolution, but it will also run on a
- monochrome monitor system. It has lots of features, including a recording
- function that saves the patterns in an animation file that can be played back
- by the program.
- There is a similar program for IBM PC's that a) is slower, b) has less
- features, and c) costs $149.95! But then, our Atari's are Only Game Machines,
- right? Also, the figues that JEWELBOX.PRG produces are a unique innovation.
-
-
- XORMANIA runs only in monochrome. It produces full-screen patterns of
- great complexity. It, too, is unique (at least I know of no other programs
- that are similar) in output. Fascinating to watch, and like all these
- programs, you can easily save your favorite screens.
-
-
- AUOTCELL is not unique; there is an implementation of its one-dimensional
- automata on all types of personal computers (except the Atari, until now).
- AUTOCELL's chief feature is SPEED; this is one fast puppy! AUOTCELL runs in
- medium and high resolution.
-
-
- Version 2 of the popular public domain SUPER POLYSCOPE program is
- included in AUTO*ART. (It has not yet been released into public domain.) It
- adds such features as a randomizer, slow-motion mode, freeze frame, a screen
- buffer that holds up to 16 screens. From this buffer, screens can be reviewed
- and saved if desired. Version 2 of the SUPER POLYSCOPE, like all the programs
- on the AUTO*ART disk, is also STe-color-compatible.
-
-
- GRAPHVIS.PRG is a public domain program and produces visualizations of
- equations. It runs only in low resolution. Its graphic output screens can be
- saved as picture files.
