  8. It's time for that 'nerd' in the white suit to reappear in the third hilarious 
  9. Larry trilogy.   The original and perhaps best Leisure Suit Larry game had the 
  10. Moral  Guardians  up  in arms at the sexual innuendo that seemed  to  be  it's 
  11. attraction.   However the sequel was tamed down,  and cries came from  unhappy 
  12. game  players who demanded more of the humour that featured in  the  original.  
  13. Sierra  have taken note of these comments and to please the public,  Larry  is 
  14. back and in better shape then ever before!

  16. Larry  III  has  the same write protection  system  as  the  first,  hopefully 
  17. stopping  minors (not the type that dig for coal) from seeing the  jokes  that 
  18. could corrupt their innocent minds.   However, instead of not being allosed to 
  19. play the game, the level of filth changes depending on the number of questions 
  20. answered correctly.  This means that if only one of the five answers is right, 
  21. the filth level is pretty damn tame.  Three out of five is getting near to the 
  22. knuckle and five out of five qualifies you for all out perversion.

  24. Set on Nontoonyt,  the island the second instalment finished on, it seems that 
  25. you've  been  abandoned by your wife,  Kalalua for an  Amozon  cannibal  slot-
  26. machine repair woman!   As a result,  you lose you job, your boss is also your 
  27. ex-father-in  law.   Being down in the dumps,  you must pick yourself  up  and 
  28. throw away your Hawaiian  shirt and Bermuda shorts in favour of your polyester 
  29. white suit.   Nothing can stop you in your search for fame, fortune and, above 
  30. all women.

  32. The game begins on a cliff-top overlooking the empire that you created.   Tall 
  33. skyscrapers merge with tropical jungles,  the beach and mountains.   There are 
  34. two telescopes perched at the top of the cliff which allow you to look at  the 
  35. view.   However,  Larry  is  not bothered about seeing the distant  waves  lap 
  36. against the shore.  Instead he turns the binoculars towards the high-rise flat 
  37. and  stares  in  awe at an unsuspecting nude  woman.   Points  are  gained  by 
  38. executing  rude deeds such as this and believe me,  there will be more that  a 
  39. couple of times that you can let the 'Larry' in you shine through.

  41. It  seems that the first two adventures proved a little too much for our  here 
  42. and  middle-age  spread  is taking  over.   Obviously,  this  makes  him  less 
  43. appealing  to the female species so it's a good idea to visit  Fat  City,  the 
  44. islands only health club.  Once inside your worst nightmares will come true as 
  45. you'll have to pump iron with the motto, 'no pain no gain' in mind.

  47. To  raise  your  spirits you can visit The Comedy Hut  where  Paul  Paul  will 
  48. attempt  to  make  you  laugh  with  jokes  concerning  you  favourite  ethnic 
  49. minorities.  There is also a Casino to keep you amused, but instead of playing 
  50. on the one-arm bandits,  you decide to watch the cabaret including Cherri Tart 
  51. instead.   With  only one set of clothes to your name,  you must try and  make 
  52. some  money  or at least gain a little cash in some way.   You don't  have  to 
  53. resort to selling your body,  but a quick look in your mail box or a visit  to 
  54. Dewey, Cheatem and Howe, the local attorneys, may prove useful.

  56. Instead  of having a code wheel or some other sort of code  protection  inside 
  57. the  packaging,  a  Nontoonyt Tonite guide to the island  holds  indispensable 
  58. clues  to parts of the game that would be impossible without it.   As with all 
  59. of Sierra's recent releases it's compatible with a Roland MT-32 or other sound 
  60. module thus creating brilliant sounds that's sure to impress.

  62. The  main difference between the third installation and the other two  is  the 
  63. fact that you change roles from Larry to Passionate Patti halfway through  the 
  64. quest.   Patti has the tough task of retrieving her lover from the clutches of 
  65. the native Amazonian cannibal, if she's not quick enough, he'll be turned into 
  66. a sex-slave for the rest of his days.   In my opinion,  the Leisure Suit Larry 
  67. series  is by far the best set of adventures by Sierra,  as they  successfully 
  68. combine humour with a tricky,  long term quest.  Everything is highly polished 
  69. and the graphics are colourful and well defined.   Thankfully,  my main  gripe 
  70. with the other two,  the hands-off sequences,  has been rectified as there are 
  71. less  of  them and any that are included are either short or  can  be  skipped 
  72. completely.  With the increase of humour in both the game and the manual, this 
  73. is the best in the series and possible the best game from Sierra to date.
