- <f1><c000> UNFINISHED TALES <f0>
- another promising aTARI project cancelled :(
- ----------------------------------------------------------------- -- - --- ----
-
- And once again we have to pay an expensive bill for our sins... One of the most
- promising games was cancelled due to lack of interest from our side... :/ Sh*t
- happens my friends. How many defeats do we have to experience yet? Just to
- *understand* we shouldn't ignore any CALLS FOR HELP?
-
- Maybe it wasn't the only reason why RafalK decided to stop this project...
- Maybe. But there was too many sins of apathy in our small world already to not
- believe it...
-
- Some of you will maybe continue to ignore such news... Some others maybe not?
- Just try to do your best to NOT reproach yourself when another project will be
- cancelled! Support the left souls! They are worth our attention!
-
- Respect to all who support freeware/shareware authors!!!
-
- grey / msb signin' off...
-
-
- p.s. Special thanx to RafalK who did reply on my request and agreed to write
- some words about his cancelled project...

- TALES OF TAMAR
- unfinished project
- for aTARI fALCoN 030
- -- -- - --------------------- - -
-
- ToT is a abbreviation from Tales of Tamar (www.tamar.net). It's a really good
- medieval multiplayer game. The idea is really old - about 10 years. The father
- of this game comes from Amiga platform and also the first version is available
- for Amiga users. Then came the PC and Mac version. There should be also an
- Atari version. But... I was working on porting this game 2 long hard years. At
- the beginning it was really fun to develop such product, it was a really big
- challenge. I could even play ToT on Atari for about 1 year!! It means it was
- really playable version. It has not all features of Amiga version, but remember
- it was (is) only a port. Martin Wolf (the author of this game) is working on
- this game 10 (or even 24) hours a day so it is sure that the Amiga version will
- always have everything.
-
- After 2 years of development I decided to stop working on this game, in spite
- of the high version number. Why? The game is commercial and it would be
- commercial also for Atari. I mean, you not only have to buy the game, you would
- also have to pay for each round (after one year of playing). Who would buy such
- game for Atari? I don't want to work on something which will not be used. Even
- if it's "only" a game. Secondly after these two years almost nobody was
- interested in this game. I had 1-2 testers + me (Amiga version has 40, PC 30,
- Mac 20) even if at the beginning everyone wanted to play. After I was playing
- alone for more then one month I decided to stop working on it. At the same time
- I had to finish my Ph.D. and to be honest I had not so much time for it. After
- my Ph.D. was finally ready I realized that it makes no sense to work on the
- game. It's bitter but it's true...
-
- It is better to spend more time on MyPDF :)
