  42.    lewiS:  Elo... I am very glad to talk with you.

  44.     Grey:  Let's start with the usual stuff - what's your real name, how old or 
  45.            young are you, what are ya doing aside from computing etc. :)

  47.    lewiS:  Hmm,  is  it  necessary? I  don't like  this official stuff. :) Just 
  48.            lewiS/AiDS. It should be enough... :P

  50.     Grey:  How did your adventure with  fuji  machines begin ? Was it a gift or 
  51.            a considered purchase ?

  53.    lewiS:  It was about 10 years ago. I was collecting money  for the computer. 
  54.            I  managed to collect  one  million zlotych. :) For now it should be
  55.            about $25. I didn't know  what  computer  I want to buy. At the last 
  56.            minute I decided  to  become a user  of  Atari 130XE, but I couldn't 
  57.            find  this  machine on  the  Warsaw Computer Stock.  So I started to
  58.            think about C64  which  cost 1 250 000 zlotych. But again - I didn't
  59.            have enough money... Finally I bought  Atari 800XL  without any tape
  60.            recorder or disk  drive. I had only two cartridges and one joystick. 
  61.            After one week I bought XC12 tape recorder.

  63.     Grey:  What was the 1st demo you ever saw and what were your impressions?

  65.    lewiS:  I think it was  The Top #2  by WFMH. But this demo didn't impress me 
  66.            too much.  First two demos which did it were:  "Sweet Illusions"  by 
  67.            Shadows  and  "Bitter Reality"  by Slight.  After  I saw it I really
  68.            wanted to learn asm to do something like that by... myself :)

  70.     Grey:  When did you join 'AIDS' group and why? What was your function?

  72.    lewiS:  It was by accident during the time when I was a member of Masters of
  73.            Electric City (MEC).  Mateoos,  who  was  a  main  organizer of AiDS
  74.            suggested  me  to code  a  small  info  about  founding a new group. 
  75.            I agreed to do it.. and (surprisingly) Mateoos informed me that I am
  76.            in AiDS now. No chance to object. :)

  78.     Grey:  "AIDS".. hum... Who got this weird idea to name your band like that? 
  79.            and Geesus... WHY?! :)

  81.    lewiS:  In fact it isn't taken from this horrible  illness. It is a shortcut 
  82.            of (in polish) "Amerikanskij Imperialitycznyj Dupnyj Syf". This name 
  83.            was created by  Mateoos of course. I suppose it could have also been
  84.            an idea of Tar™an, who was an AiDS founder too.

  86.     Grey:  Could you throw us the names of  all  scene-prods released under the 
  87.            'AIDS' label  with  short  description  of  each  of  them? (date of
  88.            release, config machine needed etc.)

  90.    lewiS:  Uff, it was too many prods. I don't remember everything. I think the
  91.            most important are  "Impossible but Real"  and  "Khai-et". Both were
  92.            released in 1999. Take  a  look  for  "Base 33"  (1998 IIRC),  maybe 
  93.            "Trial" (one  and  only my demo in co-operate with  New Generation). 
  94.            All these demos should  work  on  standard Atari  with  128KB of RAM 
  95.            (130XE). Stereo Pokey is recommended. :)

  97.     Grey:  Wha  do You think about the  8-bit Atari scene nowadays? It seems to
  98.            be quite  silent judging by the amount of the scene-releases lately,
  99.            don't ya think?

  101.    lewiS:  8-bit Atari scene is silent in productions atm,  but  there is a big 
  102.            friendship between ppl. You  can see a good  demo  from time to time
  103.            ("Numen" and "Ergo Bibamus" for example).  Now we still awaiting for
  104.            New Generation's demo which was announced 2 years back. :)

  106.            I think we are maybe  too old  to  make so many demos like few years
  107.            ago. For me people are most important.

  109.     Grey:  "AIDS" also  froze  their  scene-activities for a long time... Being
  110.            at the latest QuaST party I've  heard  a  rumour that you decided to
  111.            get  "back on track", is it true? What do you plan to release in the
  112.            near future?

  114.    lewiS:  It was MacGyver's decision to come back. He told us that he wants to 
  115.            finish some old projects. I think it should be a tracker, maybe DOS. 
  116.            On  8-bit Atari all utils must be coded by scene people. I think DOS 
  117.            with  HDD support  and  comfort  command  processor  has been a much 
  118.            awaited util for years.

  120.     Grey:  Did  You  sell your ST  or  is it  hidden  somewhere awaiting better
  121.            times? Any plans concerning this machine?

  123.    lewiS:  ST had very short life at my home. I think  TOS  was too slow. I had 
  124.            a TT030 too, but it can't run the things I love so much: demos.

  126.     Grey:  Did you ever have the felling that ST was madly IGNORED by the 8-bit 
  127.            Atari community? Most of sceners moved to Amiga or PeeZee toys still 
  128.            calling themself "die-hard atarians"... wasn't it a bit weird? :/

  130.    lewiS:  The ST was  on  the  polish  market  for a too short period of time.
  131.            Additionally it had less games. I think  Amiga  in  Poland  was  the 
  132.            computer of dreams.  PC suxx!  I don't want to use PC, but it is the 
  133.            only  computer  which  lets me earn money... I think the 8-bit Atari 
  134.            community moved to Amiga or PC because of better games and demos.

  136.     Grey:  It looks like only  the  Falcon  was able to shake up this community 
  137.            and  some  famous  sceners  moved  to  that  machine (e.g. Our 5OFT,   
  138.            Shadows, Cobra, Pandemonium, Excellent team...). And now also you've
  139.            decided  to  lay  your  hands  on  that bird! My best congrats mate! 
  140.            Welcome to the Falcon scene!

  142.    lewiS:  Thanks, but I  don't  think I can call myself  a  Falcon scener yet. 
  143.            At the moment I want to explore  this  machine,  look at some demos, 
  144.            play with OS. Maybe I'll try to do something on it in the future.

  147.            Eh... I can't skip it anyway! Can we  expect  any scene releases for 
  148.            the Falcon in the future? :)))
