New Zealand glacier. This is the bottom of a low-altitude glacier in New Zealand. Notice the rough surface and crevasses. It is particularly dirty due to deposits from the mountainside caused by an earthquake the day before. The glacier is retreating by 100m per year - the terminal moraine was about 1km below.
