  12. This is a demo version of Winfo.  It is fully functional however, it will
  13. only allow the entry of 12 items in any of its data bases.  You may purchase
  14. a fully enabled version of Winfo ($39.95 + $5.00 shipping and handling

  27. Installation:
  28.    Unzip this file to a diskette or directory on your local disk.
  29.    From the Windows Program Manager Menu, select the 'File' menu option,
  30.        then 'Run'.
  31.    Enter the drive and directory you unzipped to followed by Setup.
  32.    Follow the on screen instructions.  The Install program will build a
  33.        Winfo group in Program Manager.

  35. Navigational Hints
  36. Each Icon on the Main View screen has a corresponding menu option.  If you
  37. are uncomfortable using the icons at first, use the menu options.  If you
  38. want to start using the Icons, you can learn what each Icon does by placing
  39. your mouse over the Icon, pressing the left mouse button, and holding it down.
  40. When you do this, the Status Bar (last line of the Main View window) will
  41. display a description of what this Icon does.  If you move the cursor off the
  42. icon and then release the button, the Icon function will not execute.

  44. Quick Tour
  45. Entering Winfo - Double click on the Winfo Icon to start Winfo.  You will
  46. see the title screen appear, then the Main View showing all the records in
  47. a Sample phone book data base.    The Menu bar is on top, followed by the Icon
  48. bar, then the Alphabet buttons and the Field Headings for all the Cards.
  49. The last line of the Main View windows is the Status line.  It shows the
  50. current status, descriptions. and useful information about the current
  51. database such as number of Cards, Default Form, Current View, and whether
  52. the data base has been modified.

  54. Display Information
  55. Double clicking on any item or pressing F2 in the Main View List will display
  56. the highlighted Card on the default form.  If you select Forms from the Menu
  57. or Icon bar, you will see a list of all the forms available for the Phone
  58. database.  Select each one and see which one you prefer.  You may change
  59. forms at any time without affecting your data.    It does not matter which
  60. form you use to enter your data, you can view it on any form.

  62. Add a Card
  63. Pressing F3 from the Main View screen or on a form will bring up a blank form.
  64. Enter your name and address.  Once done, pressing F2 will save the Card and
  65. return you to the Main View screen. The new card will be displayed in the
  66. Main View.  Adding records is that easy.

  68. Change your View
  69. Select View or Quick View.  This function is used to define and select which
  70. cards will be displayed in the main view.  Select the fields in the order
  71. you want them to display, then select the default form.  Finally enter the
  72. Selection criteria.  Press HELP to learn more about selection criteria.
  73. Remember that you can have as many views as you want.  Experiment with Views.
  74. This will not change your data, it's just being sorted and redisplayed.

  76. Print a Card
  77. Select File.Print.Print Forms and look through the list of pre-defined reports,
  78. Labels, and Cards.  If your particular size of Label is not shown,  select
  79. Custom Labels and use the custom Label screen to describe your labels.    Winfo
  80. will print any size label in any layout you wish. The same is true for
  81. Envelopes.  Just press the Envelope button, set up the envelope parameters,
  82. and you're set.

  84. Auto Dialer
  85. Pressing F7 from any screen will display the Auto Dial screen. As you can see,
  86. you can auto dial any of the 6 phone numbers associated with each card.  There
  87. is also a sophisticated Post Dialer screen that will allow you to navigate
  88. yourself through the most complicated of phone or message systems and even
  89. includes 3 credit card numbers.  All this can be done without even picking up
  90. your phone.

  92. Other Data Bases
  93. Select File.New.  This screen shows the 12 databases that Winfo supports.
  94. Be sure to look at all the forms in each data base.  You may create multiple
  95. data bases of each type.

  97. Mail Merge & Import/Export
  98. Winfo also supports mail merge with the most popular Windows word processors
  99. and import and export from standard ASCII comma delimited files.  This means
  100. that you can import your data from other data bases.

  103. Help is fully functional and if you are having any trouble,  please try
  104. pressing the Help Icon or Menu Item.
