  74. Welcome to PKZIP 2.0.  This release continues the high performance tradition
  75. of previous versions of PKZIP, with a host of new features.  In addition to
  76. an improved reference section, this manual contains a step-by-step tutorial.
  77. By following the Installation, Tutorial and Advanced Features sections in
  78. order you will learn how to use PKZIP to your best advantage.  Use the
  79. Command Reference sections in your day-to-day use of PKZIP. Convenient
  80. indices to these sections are printed on the inside of the front and back
  81. covers.

  83. PKZIP is a powerful program. It has many options, but it is possible to make
  84. use of PKZIP by knowing only a few simple options.  You can start out with a
  85. basic understanding and learn more if and when you need to use additional
  86. features.

  88. It is recommended that you first read through this introduction and the
  89. installation procedure.  Then perform the installation and work through the
  90. Tutorial in order.

  92. Follow up with the Advanced Features section of the Tutorial.  You should not
  93. attempt to use the PKZIP Backup Guide until you have completed (and
  94. understand) the entire tutorial.

  98. This manual follows several conventions for clarity and to help you find
  99. information quickly.  Text that you would see on your computer screen is
  100. shown here in a "typewriter" typeface.  Text that would be entered by you
  101. in these examples is shown in bold:

  105. Bold text is also used for emphasis and to point out terms which are then
  106. shown in vocabulary boxes.

  111. in convenient vocabulary blocks.  These vocabulary terms are with the first
  112. instance of the word, so that you may read them and continue on without
