  3. Quick Installation Instructions:

  5. Please see the text file WINZIP.DOC for full installation instructions.
  6. Be sure to read the file LICENSE.DOC before using WinZip.
  7. The following "Quick Start" information is for experienced users ONLY.
  8.  
  9. 1) Create the directory C:\WINZIP and copy all WinZip-related files to
  10.    this directory.  At a minimum you need the following files:
  11.    WINZIP.EXE, WZ.DLL, WZ.COM, WZ.PIF, and WINZIP.HLP.  Important:  if
  12.    you are installing to a directory containing an earlier version of
  13.    WinZip be sure WinZip is not running, then backup and delete all
  14.    files in the C:\WINZIP directory before proceeding.

  16. 2) From the Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu, type
  17.    "C:\WINZIP\WINZIP" (don't type the quotes), and press Enter.

  19. The WinZip package consists of the following files:

  22. LICENSE.DOC  license agreement/warranty disclaimer
  23. WHATS.NEW    brief description of new features in WinZip
  24. WINZIP.DOC   extracts from documentation in ASCII format
  25. WINZIP.HLP   complete documentation in online hypertext help format
  26. WINZIP.EXE   required executable
  27. WZ.DLL       required dynamic link library
  28. WZ.COM       required executable
  29. WZ.PIF       required Program Information File
  30. ORDER.DOC    order form
  31. FILE_ID.DIZ  brief description for bulletin boards
  32. VENDOR.DOC   information for Shareware Distributors and Disk Vendors
