  10. INTRODUCTION
  11. ------------
  12. Yakkity Clock is an easy to use talking clock utility for the
  13. Microsoft Windows operating environment.
  14.  
  15. Yakkity Clock literally "tells" you the time at the press of a
  16. button -- or at easily configured intervals from once every hour
  17. to once every minute.  A number of built-in sound effects can be
  18. substituted for the "interval" voice time -- you can even set up
  19. Yakkity Clock to bark like a dog!
  20.  
  21. Yakkity Clock is an alarm clock, too!  Up to four independent
  22. alarms can be set and enabled quickly and easily.  Plus, the
  23. alarm feature can be configured to play either of the two
  24. standard sounds OR any stand-alone .WAV sound file located in
  25. the Yakkity Clock directory!

  49. Full product documentation is contained in the YAKCLOCK.TXT file.
  50. This is an ASCII text file which can be easily loaded and viewed
  51. with Windows Notepad, Windows Write, or any word processor or text
  52. editor that supports the ASCII text format.  This file includes a
  53. program description, instructions, and technical notes.
  54.  
  55. Hypertext program documentation is supplied in the YAKCLOCK.HLP
  56. file.  This is a Windows Help System format file, which can be
  57. loaded and viewed with Windows Help -- and is directly accessed
  58. from within Yakkity Clock via the system menu "Help..."
  59. command.

  61. Both of these files contain all the information you need to
  62. install and run this program.  The Windows Help System includes
  63. the provision for easily printing any topic or topics from the
  64. YAKCLOCK.HLP file.  This handy feature can be used to turn your
  65. "manual on disk" into hard copy for future reference.

  69. QUICK & DIRTY START-UP
  70. ----------------------
  71. We recommend that you make a backup copy of the master program
  72. disk before installing or running Yakkity Clock.  We also
  73. recommend that this program be installed to, and run from, a
  74. hard disk.

  76. To get Yakkity Clock loaded and running with a minimum of fuss,
  77. simply create a new directory or subdirectory on your hard disk
  78. (e.g., C:\YAKCLOCK or C:\WINAPPS\YAKCLOCK) and copy the entire
  79. contents of your master disk to that new directory.

  81. From Microsoft Windows, you can run this program from File
  82. Manager by "double-clicking" the YAKCLOCK.EXE file entry or by
  83. selecting the YAKCLOCK.EXE file entry and issuing the menu bar
  84. "File/Run" command.

  86. Of course, Yakkity Clock's icon can be easily installed into
  87. a new or existing Program Manager group for quick, one-step
  88. running.

  90. Once running, all configuration controls are accessed from the
  91. Yakkity Clock system menu.  A complete summary of all system
  92. menu commands is provided in the YAKCLOCK.TXT file and within
  93. the Yakkity Clock help system.
