  25. I. Getting started with this X-Tracker DEMOVERSION
  26.  
  27. After calling the executable program XT.EXE, you will be asked for your
  28. soundcard. At the moment the following cards are supported:
  29.  
  30.  => Gravis Ultrasound (preferably with 1 MB)
  31.  => Soundblaster (1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and compatibles)
  32.  => Soundblaster Pro (and fully compatibles)
  33.  => Soundblaster 16 (ASP) (and fully compatibles)
  34.  => Soundblaster AWE 32 (native mode yet not supported)

  36. The menu structure is in standard SAA-like Turbo Vision by Borland, which 
  37. should make it quite easy to use. So you can move your mouse cursor or use
  38. the keyboard for mostly all commands. 
  39. To test the GREAT capabilities of X-Tracker please load a demonstration song.
  40. If you encounter any problem, try pressing F1 for on-line help.
  41. Then start the music via CTRL-F9 and feel the beatz ;-)

  43. Ia. 7 steps to compoze your own DMF

  45.  1) Get quick into X-TRACKER ;-)
  46.  2) Open the "sample-dialog" by pressing return
  47.  3) press "l" or klick the "Load"-Button
  48.  4) choose your favourite sample
  49.  5) press ESC to return to the tracker
  50.  6) now smash the keyz (or press F1 at any time to get help with the keys, aso)
  51.  7) play it by pressing CTRL-F9

  53. II. Information about the product
  54.  
  55. X-Tracker features clear digital sound on mostly all soundcards (if you use
  56. a SB, this depends on the power of your machine). You can use 3 effects and
  57. a volume setting on one note at the same time! You can use 1024 position
  58. and your pattern length is variable. Samples can be up to 256kb long. The
  59. sample-mem is only determined by your main memory (if you use SB!, not on GUS). So you can
  60. Import many popular module-files (S3M MTM etc.) and you can also load
  61. samples and patches in many formats.
  62. Songs (=DMFs) could be saved compressed to save memory. And of course you
  63. can use sample libraries that store your samples compressed on your hard-
  64. disk or floppy disks.
  65. A full functioning sampler is intergrated, and it has stunning features and
  66. effects. All this and more is available to you NOW. So do not hesitate order
