23-10-95 Psychic Link Information File 23-10-95
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
This file contains everything you ever wanted to
know about Psychic Link, but were afraid to ask.
It also contains stuff you didn't
know you wanted to know.
It also contains stuff you don't want to know,
but somebody else does want to know.
It also contains stuff that nobody could ever
possibly want to know, but we included it for a laugh.
═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Wot is Psychic Link then?
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Psychic Link is a UK-based PC-orientated Demo Group. It is fairly new,
since it was founded only about 1.5 years ago, and it is also fairly small,
as it has only three members:
The Member-List:

Here is a bit about us: (recorded live on the plane back from ASM'95)
<CLICK>
S-Cubed: Erm... I'm at University, but the other two are still at school.
Skywalker: School sucks, dude.
S-Cubed: Yeah - at university it's like total party time.
Statix: Shut up, butthead.
Skywalker: Yeah, shut up S-Cubed.
S-Cubed: Hey dudes, cool it.
Skywalker: Oh yeah... uh... sorry dude.
S-Cubed: Say something about Psychic Link.
Statix: Well, I worked for Bullfrog over the summer, and that's where I
got most of my info about coding the polygon routines in JUICE.
S-Cubed: Yeah, Bullfrog is cool.
Skywalker: Yeah, coooome to Butthead.
<tannoy> Please fasten your seatbelts. We are experiencing some turbulence.
S-Cubed: Nooooooo! We're all gonna DIE!
Statix: Shut up, butthead.
Skywalker: Yeah, shut up S-Cubed.
S-Cubed: <shouting> Help! Help!
Statix: Yeah, like "Psychic Link Coders Gruesomely Killed in Tragic Plane
Crash Death Orgy"... NOT!
Skywalker: Cool... I'm not a coder... uhuh huh huh
Statix: Calm down, dude.
S-Cubed: Oh - OK.
Skywalker: Hey, dudes... I can't find my passport.
Statix: Shya right.
S-Cubed: Yeah - as if.
Skywalker: Oh - it's OK, I've found it.
Statix: Surprise.
S-Cubed: Hey - say something more about Psychic Link.
Skywalker: Psychic Link is cool.
Stewardess: <to S-Cubed> Excuse me sir, is everything all right?
S-Cubed: Whuh?
Statix: Yeah, he's fine.
Skywalker: Wooooah... who's she? uh huh ermm...
Hi, my name's Statix. errr I do lots of cool code... uh huh huhhuh.
Statix: No way butthead.. I'm Statix, so like, totally shut up buttlunch.
Skywalker: Yeah, shut up, Skywalker.
Stewardess: You were shouting "help help" Can I get you anything sir?
S-Cubed: Err....
Statix: No - he's fine. Don't worry about it.
Skywalker: Hey, dudes... I can't find my wallet.
Stewardess: Let me know if you need anything. <Walks away>
S-Cubed: Uhuh huh huh... cool.
Statix: Shut up, butthead.
Skywalker: Oh - it's OK, I've found it.
<tannoy> We will shortly begin our descent. Please have your passports
ready for inspection when we land.
Skywalker: Hey, dudes... I can't find my passport.
Statix: Shya right.
S-Cubed: Yeah - as if.
Statix: You had it just a moment ago, dude.
Skywalker: I can't find it anywhere.
S-Cubed: Look in all your pockets.
Skywalker: That's what I'm doing.
S-Cubed: Maybe the stewardess stole it... uhuh huh huh.
Statix: Shut up, butthead.
Skywalker: Oh - it's OK, I've found it.
S-Cubed: Hey - we have to say what we thought of the party.
Statix: The sound system was lame.
Skywalker: Lame? It totally wrecked my kewl music. The bass like totally
destroyed all the treble.
Statix: I think they were running it through a compressor.
Skywalker: My lovely samples. Ohhh...
S-Cubed: The contrast on the big screen wasn't so good either.
Skywalker: How can I live with the shame?
Statix: More like a not-very-big screen.
Skywalker: My music...
S-Cubed: We'll know better for next year though.
Skywalker: Hey, dudes... I can't find my wallet.

What kind of fabulous stuff does Psychic Link release?
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Aug94: Memories S-Cubed's entry to the Music Contest ][
Oct94: ACT1 A 386 based demo.
Nov94: DisorderTracker v1.6 Our own tracker (used for ACT1 music)
by Statix.
Aug95: JUICE (party version) A Pentium demo with a few bugs in...
Oct94: DisorderTracker v2 alpha The next version of our tracker
(used for JUICE music)
Nov95: JUICE v1.1 A Pentium demo with no bugs. ;-)
We have also released various other bits of music, BBS adverts etc...
which can all be found on our Distribution sites, listed later in this file.
Also available from them is the MEGA-EGA demo by S-Cubed, released shortly
before Psychic Link was formed. Statix and Skywalker would like to declare
their total non-connection with the aforementioned product.

Graphics artist wanted
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Psychic Link needs a good graphics artist. At the moment any hand-drawn
graphics in our productions is done by one of the coders, and this is not a
very satisfactory state of affairs, since they would rather be coding, and
the graphics are not quite as amazingly cool as they should be... ;-)
If you are a Graphics Artist, who is not a member of any other group,
and would like to join Psychic Link, then *please* get in contact with us.
We would especially like to hear from you if you live in the UK, since
that would make communication and swapping files easier, but at the moment
we will consider *anyone* Even if you don't speak English, and draw your
graphics on an Amiga... we don't care. Contact us...

How does my extremely popular BBS become a dist. site for this great group?
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
It's easy. Send us an e-mail, and we will tell you. It helps if you
have internet access, since that makes sending files to you slightly easier.
═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
The Future of the Psychic Link crew. :)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Who knows what the future holds? As we finished ACT1 we had no idea that
just under a year later we would be walking away from ASM'95 having reached
2nd place with our latest demo. In fact we're still recovering from the
shock.
We are hoping to get a lot more involved with the Demo Scene than we have
been up until now, and we hope that people may finally notice that we exist.
It's hard for us as we live in the UK, far from the good parties, and with
hardly anyone around us coding demos.
One thing is certain: Psychic Link will continue to release more high
quality productions in the near future.
