  11. Disclaimer   : All those typos in bad english aren't made on purpose.
  12.                Still, I'm using english in this jolly text because it
  13.                seems to be standard in scene. I'm 100% sure that
  14.                foreigners won't come anyway but here we go.
  15.  
  16. Date & Place : Demolition will be again held in the Joensuun Kauppaoppilaitos.
  17.                It is the same place than last time, it can hold about 250
  18.                people with some computer and hifi equipment. Date will be
  19.                friday 22-11-96 and doors will open at 2000.
  20.  
  21. Entrance fee : 100 Fim, girls and foreigners free.
  22.  
  23. Boozing      : Yes, we know, boozing is the (best?) part of the parties but
  24.                we surely can't allow as free politics as last time. We won't
  25.                confiscate your booze unless you drink it inside. We know
  26.                that all of you don't have a car so you can have your booze
  27.                fi. in your bag. Note! All confiscated booze will be most
  28.                likely consumed by organizers! Let's just hope for perfect
  29.                weather for having fun.
  30.  
  31.                Duncan/Damones promised to take care of boozing organization.
  32.                Don't know what it means but I guess that at least guided
  33.                bar tour.
  34.  
  35.                Be sure that you will be thrown out if we will catch
  36.                you smoking inside.
  37.  
  38. Projector    : Video projector will be the same than last time. Amiga will
  39.                be connected via tv-modulator and PC will use direct RGB
  40.                input. Do note that you shouldn't use tricky screen modes
  41.                since projector doesn't show 50hz modes (pc case of course).
  42.                If you want to use it make it optional. You may test your
  43.                product before competition. Also PA will be most likely the
  44.                same as last time.
  45.  
  46. Competitions : Again, we will have combined compos with Amiga and PC. Those
  47.                will be naturally demo, intro, music and graphics one. There
  48.                will be also fast compos and those are combined as well.

  65. Machines     : Amiga will be the 060/50Mhz
  66.  
  67.                PC will be Pentium 120Mhz, Matrox Millenium and
  68.                1MB Gus standard. We will use MS-DOS 7.0 (Win95 dos
  69.                prompt only) for showing demos and intros. We will show
  70.                demos with clean boot, which in this case means himem.sys
  71.                and Scitech Display Doctor so it should be safe to use
  72.                svga resolutions and colors.
  73.  
  74.                I guess that all coders know this already but do not
  75.                assume that having scitech installed means that you
  76.                have possibility use 24bit modes. Some cards have
  77.                their truecolor mode done with 32bits, like Matrox
  78.                Millenium. More precisely, don't assume any modes,
  79.                check them before using.
  80.  
  81.                If you use svga graphics we strongly recommend you
  82.                to test your production before compo in compo machine.
  83.  
  84. Democompo    : These are the general rules for demo competition.
  85.  
  86.                - Maximum file size is four megabytes. Demo may be also
  87.                  pure animation file with sound but I guess you can't
  88.                  do much in four megabytes.
  89.  
  90.                - If demo is just an animation it has to be in
  91.                  executable form.
  92.  
  93.                - Demo must work with eight megabytes of ram
  94.                  but it may take advantage of more memory.
  95.  
  96.                - It must not write anything to harddisk nor any other
  97.                  media.
  98.  
  99.                - PC demos must work also without soundcard.
  100.  
  101.                - Please note projector limits mentioned before.
  102.                  PC max resulution is 640x480 and Amiga max resulution
  103.                  is 640x512.
  104.  
  105. Introcompo   : These are the general rules for intro competition.
  106.  
  107.                - Same rules as in demo competition but maximum file size
  108.                  for compo version is 80 kilobytes.
  109.  
  110.                - Release version can be larger and it must work without
  111.                  sound.
  112.  
  113. Graphics     : Maximum resolution will be 640x512 with 256 colors.
  114.                Amiga pictures will be shown with Amiga and PC pictures
  115.                will be shown with Compushow unless you want to use other
  116.                viewer. Please bring also the viewer with you.
  117.  
  118.                Do note that this is not a scanning competition. We
  119.                do our best in disqualifying scanned pictures but
  120.                as you might know it is very hard.
  121.  
  122.                That is why we demand three phases of you picture.
  123.                One from the sketch, one from the middle and final
  124.                picture of course. Final picture MUST NOT have
  125.                signature. You can deliver different picture with
  126.                your signature.
  127.  
  128.                Even if this won't make scanmen life impossible
  129.                it will make it at least little bit harder!
  130.  
  131. Music        : Maximum of 32 channels are accepted. File size maximum is
  132.                one megabyte (1048576 bytes). All contributions must be
  133.                delivered on PC formatted disk and we will play modules with
  134.                Cubic player. If you aren't satisfied with Cubic Players sound
  135.                we also have the newest versions of FT2 and Capamod. Feel
  136.                free to bring your own player. ST3 seems to have some
  137.                problems in a machine we are going to use as a compo
  138.                machine.
  139.  
  140. Jury         : There will be a different juries for all the competitions.
  141.                All juries compose of two organizers and three randomly
  142.                chosen Demolition visitors.
  143.  
  144.                Naturally jury can disqualify any product if it is
  145.                racistic, shitty, previously released or violating any
  146.                copyrights. In music competition it is Jurys
  147.                opininion. Everyone can't be happy or do you wan't to
  148.                listen all those tunes? I don't think so.
  149.  
  150.                Organizers will decide whether they call juries up.
  151.                Jury will be called at least in music competition.
  152.  
  153. Prizes       : Well, Imagine situation if we had 10000 fim for
  154.                prizes. I just won't say you any figures since
  155.                it isn't sure if there will be but .. it's up to
  156.                you! All the money left over after expenses will be
  157.                given as prices. Organizers aren't going to be paid.
  158.                Fast compos and sport :) events will have also good
  159.                prizes.

  174. Spreading    : All the productions will be released at the party place.
  175.                All the products will be uploaded to Manowar, Triplex BBS
  176.                and to somewhere in internet. Do note that we can't
  177.                guarantee that productions will be available next day.
  178.                Do note that we don't take any responsibility about
  179.                spreading your product. If you want to be sure that
  180.                your product goes around the world spread it by
  181.                yourself.
  182.  
  183. Other        : We will show some nice movies and old demonstrations
  184.                on big screen. If you have any movies you would like
  185.                to see in big screen bring it with you. We have time
  186.                for from two to four movies.
  187.  
  188. Cafe         : Unlike last time there will be at least a little
  189.                cafe selling coffee, lemonade and maybe even something
  190.                to eat :)
  191.  
  192. How to find  : If you come by bus or train just watch the map included
  193.                in invitation intro package. There is also maps in
  194.                stations and stations aren't that far away from
  195.                Kauppaoppilaitos unless you have much equipment. Then
  196.                I would recommend you to take a taxi, it won't cost much.
  197.                Don't walk over the river if you want to party place from
  198.                stations.
  199.  
  200.                If you come by car it is quite easy to find it even
  201.                without map. If you come from north to Joensuu (Kuopio,
  202.                Jyväskylä, Kajaani) then just follow signs for Lappeenranta.
  203.                When you drive over a river (rather large, can't miss it)
  204.                just wait for next traffic lights and turn to right.
  205.                Then just drive a little bit more and follow the signs
  206.                of Ammatti Instituutti (formerly known as kauppaoppilaitos ;)
  207.                If you come again to traffic lights then it is time
  208.                to make u-turn.
  209.  
  210.                If you come from south to Joensuu (Anything via Lappeenranta)
  211.                just turn left in the first lights in Joensuu and then
  212.                follow the signs of Ammatti Instituutti. If you come again
  213.                to traffic lights then it is time to make u-turn.
