  1.     TaskInfo v.2.21 release for Windows 95/98/NT/2000

  4.     TaskInfo2000 is an utility that combines features of Task Manager
  5. and System Information. It visually monitors different types of
  6. system information in Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and allows to copy such
  7. information to clipboard or a text file. It also allows to run/stop
  8. processes and force shutdown/restart of system.
  9.  
  10.     TaskInfo2000 is not freeware, it is a shareware program.
  11. You may use it for no more than 30 days for free, and you must
  12. register it after this trial period expires.
  13.  
  14.     Registration fee for TaskInfo2000 single user license is US $12.
  15. Some features are disabled in non-registered version (processes
  16. sorting options).

  18.     You can distribute TaskInfo2000 anywhere you want, but you must
  19. not alter original set of files in program distribution archive.
  20. This text file 'Readme.txt' must always be included.

  22.     ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  25.     TaskInfo2000 shows information about all running processes
  26. and threads (including Windows 9x ring0 VxD threads) in real time.
  27. Information about each process includes:
  28.     - threads        - CPU usage
  29.     - scheduling rate    - path
  30.     - open files        - command line
  31.     - environment variables - memory usage
  32.     - DLLs in usage        - and other
  33.  
  34.     System information includes:
  35.     - CPU, memory and cache usage
  36.     - data rates for disk, network, dial-up and other
  37.     - all open files
  38.     - CPU identification information (type, model/step etc.)
  39.     - loaded kernel drivers information
  40.     - OS version info and system directories
  41.     - logged user and computer name
  42.     - IP network host name and IP names/addresses on network adapters
  43.     - power status (including battery status for portable PCs)

  45.     TaskInfo also allows to:
  46.     - run new processes
  47.     - force termination of badly behaving processes
  48.     - change process priority
  49.     - shutdown/restart system

  52.     SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  55.     Minimal: 80486/66 MHz CPU,
  56.              Pentium or better is recommended
  57.     System:  Windows 95/98/NT/2000
  58.              (Windows 3.x is not supported)

  60.     Single and multiple CPU systems are supported.

  62.     INSTALLATION
  63.     ============

  65.     To install the program on your computer, run 'Setup.exe'.
  66. It will copy all needed files to a directory that you want,
  67. create entries in the system 'Start' menu and update system information
  68. needed for proper work of TaskInfo2000.

  70.     IMPORTANT: TaskInfo2000 must be installed by a user with
  71. administrative privileges in Windows NT/2000; installation directory
  72. must be on a local drive under these systems. After successful installation
  73. any user on this computer can run TaskInfo.

  75.     For additional information see online help and files 'WhatsNew.txt'
  76. and 'Register.txt' located in directory where the program is installed
  77. (this text file 'Readme.txt' should be located in the same directory).
