Runes v1.1
Programmed by Joseph Carmer, 1998
http://www.ionet.net/~kyphrin/
To start off, I can't really claim credit for the actual game itself.
I first saw a game like this one a few years ago, and made a very bad
version of it with Visual Basic.
Now that it has been a few years, I was a little bored and decided to
write it again. Hopefully, this time I did a better job of it ;)
Now that I'm done ranting, here are a few of the "rules" of the game.
Basically, the object is to clear the playing board of all "runes".
In order to do this, you'll need to arrange the runes so that they
will disappear. The purple and green runes will disappear immediately
if they touch another rune of the same type, whereas blue and orange
runes have to touch two other runes of the same type to disappear.
Runes only touch if they are adjacent. For example:
.
.
.
These runes are not touching...
.
...
.
and all of these runes are. The trick of it is to get the right amount of them
to touch simultaeneously so that you don't have any runes left over.
Clear as mud? If I didn't explain it very well, don't worry. The first
few levels of the game are made to teach some of the basics before the
"fun" part comes in.
If you'd like, you can check "http://www.ionet.net/~kyphrin/download" for more
levels or newer versions of the game. If you feel up to it, a level editor can
also be found there.
This game is freeware, and you may distribute it in any way you want except
commerically (ie: you cannot charge more than the cost of the distribution
media).
Thanks for trying out, Runes, I hope you enjoy it!
