  1.                   ARTICHOKES WITH DIPPING SAUCE

  4. 2 medium artichokes
  5. 1 halved lemon
  6. 2 T. unsalted butter
  7. 1 t. fresh parsley
  8. 1 t. fresh chives
  9. pinch pepper
  10.  
  11.           Cut artichokes stems flush with bottom leaves and
  12. remove small dark leaves.  Cut off top 1 inch of cone and trim
  13. points from all leaves.  Rub cuts with lemon halves.  Place in
  14. plastic bag and seal.  Microwave on high for 10 minutes.  Let
  15. stand 5 minutes.  Melt butter and add herbs and pepper.  Remove
  16. artichokes from bag and serve with dipping sauce.
