  6. SIP_NA is a moderated conference on the FidoNet Backbone.

  8. SIP_NA is an "open forum" type conversational conference for
  9. the discussion of topics related to addiction and recovery
  10. from addiction.
  11.  
  12. SIP_NA is for those involved in the Narcotics Anonymous
  13. 12-step program.  It is like an "open meeting" in that it is
  14. also open to those who wish to learn about the program of
  15. Narcotics Anonymous.  Please note that alcohol is a drug; NA
  16. is not substance specific!

  18. This conference is distributed in FidoNet, but not limited
  19. to FidoNet. If you would like to gate this conference to
  20. another network, please let me know first.

  24. Not many.  Promotion of "commercial ventures" such as
  25. treatment facilities and clinics is not in order.  General
  26. FidoNet rules regarding being excessively annoying and not
  27. being easily annoyed apply.  Non-addict professional
  28. observers are discouraged.

  30. Off topic and annoying behavior may draw comment from other
  31. echo participants and the moderator.  When appropriate,
  32. participants may be asked to use netmail to continue a
  33. discussion.  Requests from the moderator *will* be
  34. respected; challenging and defying the moderator's requests
  35. will be considered excessively annoying in itself.

  37. Though not affiliated with NA, this echo will use the 12
  38. steps and 12 traditions of Narcotics Anonymous as
  39. guidelines.
