  10. This is the R18ELECT Echo. The purpose of the Echo is to provide a place
  11. to post and discuss notices of Region 18 elections and to offer a forum for
  12. candidates to place statements of intent and respond directly to Region 18
  13. Sysops who may wish to question them. Election schedules, reminders, and
  14. results will also be published here. This Echo will not be used for actual
  15. voting. Voting will take place via direct Netmail as outlined in Region 18
  16. Policy [when adopted].

  18. This is a FidoNet-SYSOP-ONLY Echo. Since Sysops are the only ones eligible
  19. to vote, there is no purpose in opening the Echo to the general public.
  20. Please make sure it is not available to anyone except FidoNet Sysops.

  22. This is Sysop Echo with very few rules. Those very few rules are:

  24. 1. Stay on-topic. Anything related to the issues and offices of elections
  25.    in Region 18 is welcome. Others are not.
  26.  
  27. 2. No politics [except as it relates to an actual election] and no religion.
  28.  
  29. 3. No personal attacks, slurs or innuendo. Stick to issues not
  30.    personalities.
  31.  
  32. 4. No Private flagged messages in Echomail!
  33.  
  34. 5. This Echo will be traveling around the Region so try to be concise.
  35.    Avoid excessive quoting for one-liner responses.
  36.  
  37. 6. The posts in this Echo are the sole responsiblity of the poster. If you
  38.    need verification or want to continue an off-topic thread, use Netmail.
  39.  
  40. 7. The Moderators will deal with off-topic traffic. Don't respond for them.
  41.    Links to this Echo will only be curtailed when absolutely necessary so
  42.    please don't make it necessary. [grin]

  44. The Moderators are Christopher Baker and Steve Cross, at present. This may
  45. change as required.

  47. The contents of this Echo are archived on 1:374/14 as the area is purged.
  48. The current past traffic is in the file R18ELECT.ECO. Archived volumes of
  49. past are available anytime except 0100-0130 ET and Zone 1 ZMH at 1200-9600+
  50. HST/V32 for FidoNet listed systems only. Archived as it hits 362K, past
  51. traffic will be in files sequentially named as: E18ECO1.ZIP - E18ECO99.ZIP.
