  10. This is the Florida Cooking Echo. It is a region-specific conference
  11. dedicated to the good cooking and eating found in the state of Florida
  12. from the western Panhandle to Key West; from possum and grits to escaveche
  13. and Key Lime Pie.
  14.  
  15. This Echo is open to Florida participants only to keep it from getting
  16. so big nobody can keep up with it [like the national Cooking Echo]. [grin]
  17.  
  18. The conference is Moderated by Christopher Baker in Central Florida at
  19. 1:374/14, in South Florida by Ronnie Toth at 1:135/71, and in North Florida
  20. by Larry Squire at 1:3620/9.
  21.  
  22. Anyone desiring a link to this Echo may contact one of the above or get it
  23. directly from the Region 18 Backbone via your normal Echomail channels! We
  24. are NOW on the Regional Backbone.

  26. The recipes don't have to have originated in Florida but a Florida twist
  27. wouldn't hurt. Using locally available ingredients would also be a nice
  28. touch...calamondins, anyone? [grin]
  29.  
  30. Make sure your restaurant reviews contain the highlights of the menu and the
  31. location of and directions to the place from out of town.
  32.  
  33. Any topic related to cooking and eating in Florida is welcome. Anyone
  34. posting in the Echo should remember that Echomail goes all over the place
  35. so:

  37. 1. Keep it germane to the posted topic of Florida cooking and eating.
  38.  
  39. 2. Restaurant reviews are on-topic - be specific.
  40.  
  41. 3. Avoid excessive quoting if possible. It costs money to send messages
  42.    but DO quote enough so others know what you are referring to.
  43.  
  44. 4. DON'T get personal! Personal attacks and off-color language are
  45.    unnecessary and unwelcome in this conference.

  47. 5. No religion or politics! That stuff degrades an Echo faster than
  48.    anything we can think of.

  50. 6. ONLY the Moderators will address off-topic traffic.

  52. 7. NO private messages. Send private mail via Netmail.

  54. 8. NO handles or aliases unless a normal part of your BBSing and subject
  55.    to verification of real identity from your Sysop upon request from the
  56.    Moderators. Sysops should make sure your City is listed in the Origin.

  58. 9. Participate! And then participate some more.
